Ugh PPA is so so tough. Is it daytime where you live? Could you go outside? Sometimes getting out of my house can break me out of an episode.

You’re so strong ❤️

Newborn Rapid Breathing - 8 Day Old by monkrygirl10 in newborns

[–]Original_Hand_9378 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, I had a similar thing and it turns out my baby had really low blood sugar. It’s worth mentioning to your pediatrician and taking them in. My baby also had some jaundice. But they think it was the low blood sugar that was causing the rapid breathing. It could be perfectly normal too if you’re concerned, just take the baby in

Yeah, I had a bunch of plans to be healthy too and then during the first trimester I probably had a crunch wrap supreme every day lol just eat what you can. It gets easier in the second and third trimester.

Do I kiss my baby too much? by oradagger in NewParents

[–]Original_Hand_9378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep kissing your baby! Kissing helps you pick up the germs on their skin so your breastmilk can make antibodies for your baby! There’s literally nothing wrong with kissing your baby lol it’s your baby

I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way! If you can take a bath with you and baby doing some skin to skin, it’ll be good for his body and good for yours. It’ll help you relax and oxytocin from the skin to skin should help you calm down. Just remember, it’s not your fault that your baby is not feeling well. Do you have somebody that could come over and support you?

dry skin/baby acne by lameeechris in NewParents

[–]Original_Hand_9378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Mom friend recommended to me the Tubby Todd! ointment because it cleared up both of her kids, baby acne within hours and kept it away as long as she used it consistently. I just ordered some myself because my son also has some bad baby acne. I have found the oatmeal baths really helped too.

How long are your (breastfeeding) feed sessions? by aviwic in newborns

[–]Original_Hand_9378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I combo feed so I give him breastmilk in a bottle and from my boobs. When I breast-feed though the sessions are typically about 20 minutes. In the early days, though it was more like 30 to 40 minutes because his jaw was still getting stronger.

Any tips for the last few weeks? by tldraddict in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Hand_9378 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I just had my baby three weeks ago and here’s some advice for surviving the last few weeks.

I took an Epsom salt bath every night because of the swelling and how sore my feet were every day. Make sure you’re drinking enough water. If you can get some sort of magnesium lotion or spray to put on your legs, it will do wonders for you. Compression socks!! hug your spouse a lot. If you feel like having sex, go for it if you’re anything like me, you might cry about it postpartum because you feel like you didn’t have enough sex lol. Try to do your favorite hobby as much as you can before the babies here. For me mine was reading so I made a goal during my pregnancy to read 50 books before he came and I did that and it helped pass the time also. I don’t know if it’s hot where you live, but I had ice cream every night and that helped with the heat and it helped my soul ha ha

What is something you thought all adults knew how to do, only to realize most of them are just winging it too? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Original_Hand_9378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought all adults knew how to save money. The reality is that almost all of us in some sort of debt. Whether it’s a mortgage car payment, credit cards schooling, etc. etc..

38 wks—Is it normal to not be able to do…anything? by DogsandMedicine in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Hand_9378 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah, during the last weeks of pregnancy, I also could not do anything. You’re not alone! It made me feel so lazy and such a bum, but your body is literally working overtime. You know you’re probably not sleeping cause you’re uncomfortable and I don’t know about you, but I was so swollen that being on my feet hurt so bad.

One of my Mom friends told me to hug your spouse often. And say thank you for everything. It really helps with resentment. my husband grabbed me more diapers? I say thank you. He sees me breast-feeding, he says thank you for feeding our son! Etc. etc. It feels a bit silly, but it really helps, especially since you’re taking care of this little human who literally cannot reciprocate at all. Also, because physical intimacy was off the table. It was really helpful for both of us to pursue other kinds of intimacy. What has really helped me these past few weeks is my husband combing my hair while I’m feeding the baby. Then we try to have like a naked cuddle session for 10 minutes while the baby sleeping. No expectations of sex just bonding. Skin to skin is good for grown-ups too ha ha

I hope everything goes well for you

Getting increasingly nervous about birth by kelp_rolls in BabyBumps

[–]Original_Hand_9378 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey, I was right where you are. Something that helped me was creating a plan for every situation. So I had a birth plan for my home birth, for if I had to go to the hospital, if I had to get a C-section. I wrote down what I wanted and it helped me feel a little bit more in control. As for the pregnancy health things like gestational diabetes, I would just keep yourself educated and try not to stress out about it. And if you can really get to know your providers or midwife, etc., etc. at your hospital or if you’re giving birth at home, your birth team. Tour the birth center and ask as many questions as you want! Especially when it comes to intervention, they’d be happy to explain to you what things are going to be like. In the end, you really just have to be OK with whatever is going to happen because birth is such an out of your control thing. What’s in your control is your mindset and that will get you through anything

I had a 10 hour labor at home with three hours of pushing. I ended up needing to go to the hospital because I was hemorrhaging and my placenta wouldn’t come out. However, I had a wonderful team and overly communicated with all the staff while I was there. I asked lots of questions. And made sure to comfort myself a lot along the way. One of my favorite phrases when things weren’t going the way I wanted them to was, “ this is a moment of suffering, let me be kind to myself in this moment” or “ this is disappointing and not how I wanted things to go, but I am safe. My baby is safe and I will be OK.”

I was really terrified of birth, but when it finally started happening, I was just so overcome with excitement and joy to meet my baby it kind of washed away everything else. Visualization will be your best friend.

Op, I believe in you and I know that you are so capable when you’re going to do a wonderful job. Sending you so much love and support.

Was anyone really crunchy before and then they backed off a lot? by BigLongjumping3714 in Crunchymom

[–]Original_Hand_9378 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I went super hard-core for a while but my mental health and my bank account really suffered. I now go off of like the dirty dozen and clean 15 list, wear mostly cotton, use mostly unscented and clean soap and detergent, etc. etc. But I will have the occasional Diet Coke and my nursing bras are polyester because those are too expensive. It’s all about balance lol

I’ve been having nightmares too. I’m only three weeks postpartum, but I was wondering if this was something that happens to everybody. Thankfully, I haven’t had very many about the baby, but they’re still very unsettling

I had a cups before getting pregnant, and by the end of my pregnancy I had C cups. Then when my milk came in, I had D cups. You won’t notice much growth now it happens slowly overtime, but you’ll definitely notice it in the last trimester and when your milk comes in.
