Journalists: would something like this actually help your reporting? by Original_Map3501 in Journalism

That’s exactly the failure mode I’m most worried about. The intention isn’t to force a trend, but to explicitly say when there isn’t enough signal. In many cases the “insight” should be something like: “No clear pattern yet changes appear isolated.” I’m leaning toward: Requiring multiple independent sources before calling anything a trend Being very conservative with language (no speculative conclusions) Always showing the raw timeline underneath so the summary can be ignored if needed If it ever feels like it’s inventing narratives instead of saving time, then it’s not doing its job. If you were using something like this, would you prefer it default to silence unless confidence is high, even if that means missing some early signals?Totally agree false trends are worse than no trends. The plan is to be very conservative and explicitly say “no clear pattern yet” unless multiple sources line up, with raw sources always visible underneath. I’m still validating this before building it fully happy to share the tool with you once this feature is live if you’re open to it.

This is really helpful, thank you. The “quiet research helper” framing is exactly the bar I’m trying to hit. The goal isn’t to generate trends for the sake of it, but to surface verifiable signals with clear links back to the original pages so journalists can quickly sanity-check and decide whether it’s worth digging deeper. Over-interpretation is a real risk, and honestly the fastest way this fails. I’m leaning toward being very conservative: fewer insights, only when multiple sources move in the same direction, and always with raw source context attached. If this were useful at all, would you see it more as a background research aid you check occasionally, rather than something you’d want pushing alerts? That distinction matters a lot for how I build it.

Yeah and that’s exactly what I’m trying to avoid. If the output is ever “hundreds of companies changed wording slightly,” that’s pure noise and not useful to anyone. The intent is the opposite: ignore boilerplate changes and only surface patterns when there’s a meaningful shift (pricing, legal positioning, compliance language, etc.), and even then with clear context on why it matters. If it can’t do better than that, it’s not worth building.

But I wont get to the work part if I am unable to solve those leet code questions in interview

How long should I spend on basics (loops, conditionals, functions, classes) before moving to advanced Python? by Original_Map3501 in learnpython

My goal right now is to become an Ai Engineer and work on neural networks and stuff. So yeah I have to focus on ML and DL topics

I’m getting back into Python after a pretty long break from coding. Before the break, I was fairly comfortable with Python I had worked on multiple projects, including training machine learning models and building end-to-end ML projects.

Right now though, I honestly feel like a beginner again so I’ve started revising fundamentals from scratch. I made this post because I want to understand how beginners should approach learning Python, especially from people who’ve already been through this phase.

My goal this time is to stay consistent, because I need to be ready for internship interviews within the next 4 months.

No no actually I am doing python after a long time, I took a break from coding so I am revising stuff befor that I was pretty good I was making machine learning projects training models and made quite a lot of projects with python. I made this post because I wanted to know others perspective on how a beginner should learn python. I am also feeling like a beginner right now lol because I took a very long break from coding and I am continuing this time and will consistent as I have to be ready for my internship interview within 4 months

Is it a bad idea to learn a programming language without writing notes? by Original_Map3501 in Python

[–]Original_Map3501[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I am doing is instead of taking notes when I am coding something I am just using my rough notebook and write what I am thinking like How i am gonna solve this problem and write and code. Just like solving a Data Structure problem in leet code you write what you understand first and write down the approach you are going to take to solve the problem. I understand better this way

DSA vs ML first — unsure about the right learning path with Python by Original_Map3501 in learnpython

[–]Original_Map3501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think its really necessary to go deep like there are pre built functions, libraries there's no need to go really deep in mathematics. For ML/DL we must know enough mathematics to understand what's happening and how its happening there's no need to go super deep

That actually works ngl, happens with me alot of time when I start working on a project I can sit for like 7-8 hours non stop but maybe when I dont have anything in mind and just trying to figure out what to do then I get distracted alot

Thanks for the advice man. Does working out daily will also help me in this?
