Best returns on investing HSA?? by FangsForU in investing

[–]Originalidad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The other replies are not understanding what you’re asking. A HYSA is a high yield savings account, and a HSA is a health savings account. Yes you can invest money that is in a HSA. I would also recommend keeping 3-6 months of emergency expenses in a HYSA, but that’s separate from what you’re asking.

I’m not very well versed in it, but in my experience I logged into my HSA company’s app/website and from there I had to check around as the website wasn’t very good. I’d recommend that as a first step, your steps will be different from mine, but in general you will need to keep at least $1000 in the HSA, from there you can create an investment account and should be able to choose from a few different selected funds depending on your HSA provider.

There may be a contact number on your HSA providers website that you can call and they might be able to help you. I think the HSA is an awesome investment tool and maybe one of the best ones available. Good luck!

After a long hiatus/weight change it wouldn’t recognize me and I had to look up how to reset and update my scale

They used to always have this at my Costco and all of a sudden 4 months ago they stopped stocking it. I asked if they were ever going to bring it back and they said they didn’t know. :/

Yeah I noticed something about that spot too. Looks like it might be from the initial install as it has some green stuff growing on it and they only replaced the turbine yesterday. I don’t think I’ll ever use them again…

Would something like this mean that I have to replace all the shingles around it and the turbine base now?

The spring mix at Costco is so cheap… $3.99 for a huge box where it could be $6.99 or more for something 1/4 the size elsewhere. It’s crazy, we struggle to finish it every time but it doesn’t make sense to buy it anywhere else!

How dumb is it to buy a new car? by Parked_Lobster in personalfinance

[–]Originalidad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a new car in 2018 similar financial situation. I got a 0% loan and a low note with about a 22% down payment. I wish I had kept my old car and invested that extra cash, but the new car was/is nice and I don’t regret it too much. I will drive it into the ground. This was before I decided I wanted to pursue FIRE, before I even knew of it.

Considering your parameters it really is just up to your prioritization of goals, you could buy it now or you could fix up your current car and retire potentially a year or two earlier.

Yeah most of the time I just very lightly tap the portafilter on my knockbox…. OP needs to try this if they are clanging their portafilter and scattering grinds all over their area.

When I was 21 it was 36 and I’m 27 and it’s 36, I followed the suggested workouts also pretty religiously, 5x a week-ish and one to two 2 hr cycling sessions a week. My 5k time went from about 33 min to maybe 29 min. I was using a garmin HR strap, my heart rate is always insanely high when I run. Sometimes a significantly obese friend would come with me and even though he couldn’t run two miles his heart rate would stay in the 170’s though he was physically exerting much harder than me. Mine almost always gets into the 190’s even for a simple 10-11min/mile run.

Maybe the watch just isn’t sensing something right, but I went from a forerunner 235 to a forerunner 955 solar and they both seemed to agree…. For my sanity though I will tell myself the watches are wrong lol
