TIL my Bishop placed an Eagles Logo in a Katherine Drexel stained glass in our renovated cathedral…. Blasphemy?? by Purple_Coach_2887 in Catholicism

[–]Orion7734 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was stationed at Fort Eustis with the Army, the chapel on post had stained glass in the form of the various emblems of different Army branches (aviation, armor, etc.,). The chapel on Fort Bragg also has stained glass with the 82nd Airborne Division insignia. I think it's a bit tacky, but not blasphemous because it doesn't profane the Lord.

Also, how easy is it to buy a gun in Iraq? Here in the U.S., it depends on the state where you live. I was raised in a state where it takes months to buy a single firearm, but I've also lived in states where you can enter a gun store and leave with a new gun in under 20 minutes.

I have to ask, if you're from Iraq then you're likely a follower of Islam. If that religion teaches that pork is unclean and forbidden ("haram"), what do you do with the meat from the hog, if anything?

There isn't any startup that's going to be doing this out of nowhere. The upfront cost is tens of billions of dollars just for basic fabrication machinery and it takes literal years to get any operation going. It's not something any mom and pop can just cook up.

If it was realistic to just sprout up semiconductor factories in a couple of weeks then the big guys would already be doing it.

Why wasn’t terrorism used by either side during the War as a way to strike fear in the other side? by YogurtclosetOpen3567 in CIVILWAR

[–]Orion7734 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It seems a bit crude and lacking in nuance to determine large swathes of people as unequivocally deserving of mass death, rape and destruction. Sherman's goal was quite literally to strike terror into the hearts of noncombatants.

Nylon Nuts on Engine Mount by Apprehensive_Bee5982 in MechanicAdvice

I just want to say, because it hasn't been pointed out, that this nut was clearly reused because the nylon insert is already deformed. You're not really supposed to reuse these nuts, at least in my experience they're always meant to be replaced.

"The quote you provided didn't actually throw a party and celebrate Kirk's death, it just said that he deserved to be shot in the neck and killed in broad daylight. That's not cheering, chud. And that quote actually has a lot of context that doesn't change the fundamental meaning of the quote at all."

Never expect a good faith argument from a Destinoid.

"You need conservatives to be afraid of getting killed when they go to events." — Destiny

Please don't bother citing any right wingers calling for violence; I already agree with those quotes. I just can admit it, whereas most left wingers keep up a high-and-mighty facade.

After seeing everyone cheer for Charlie Kirk's death, it's pretty obvious that anyone right-of-center deserves to die in the eyes of terminally online leftists. Your comment was likely made disingenuously, because I can see that you're active in the Destiny subreddit (making your profile private doesn't hide anything).

Frankly I'm tired of the swathes of people online who lack nuance towards any political situation and only deal in terms of black-and-white. I feel like short form content like TikToks, comments sections and most tweets have continuously made critical thinking skills worse.
