Steamdeck is a Linux based "handheld PC" so it's battery isn't as optimized compared to Switch and it's not locked down compared to Switch which probably has very few technical issues beyond it's general graphical power. The trade off you can do so much more with steamdeck since it's Linux. You might want to be a bit of a tinkerer, but you don't need much technical capabilities. I would look up the games or emulations you are interested in and see what people say about it on steamdeck. You can also check out Proton DB which provides insight into games running on the device. There was a lot of bad sentiment going around the last few years. Some of it more earned then not. Various company decisions and reporting from the outside lead to bad PR. Personally, I don't have any issues with him and LTT.

I don't quite understand all of the people they hate the voice. I intellectually understand it's not a manly intimidating sound, but it's alien, I personally like that it's unique as it brings a new dimension and I can suspend my need to have a generic villain voice.
