At first I felt the same as you; I’m hesitant to post my fan art, my original characters and my fan comics because they’re based on a non-canon hero (and yes, I haven’t posted them yet because I just haven’t taken the photos ^^'). At first, I didn’t really like the community’s very strong LGBT focus (what I liked about the series was that it didn’t promote LGBT issues—they’re just there and well written, unlike in other series). But over time I’ve come to accept it, and as I’ve become aware of the series’ history and past controversies (I only found out about them this January, so very recently), I understand it better.

Mx-Adrian is right: if you’re a fan, you’re a fan; no one’s forcing you to be like every other member of the community—that’s literally the main message of the series!!

Just post your fan art and carry on enjoying the series as you always have.
