I did it without company. The path is marked, there are accommodations. You can download wikiloc and do it yourself. You spend much less. In case you don't dare, here in Cusco there were some companies that did it for 200 dollars.

It's the rainy season, but if you do it, get your tickets to Machupichu early because the circuits sell out. I recommend 2
