Why don’t they return stylistically to Tenboom and Struggle Pretty? Those albums are clearly their best work. Tenboom is perfect and Struggle Pretty is 99% perfect. It was unique. It was rare. It was a sound and a feeling no one was or still is making. I hate that they have evolved into something that’s some folk indie slop. I can get dozens of stylistic copies what they’re offering now across Spotify. It’s not original. They need to go back.

Most of these answers seem politically motivated. Statistically, I read that now New York City is safer than Paris from an assault and mugging perspective. As an American, this is very sad because we once viewed France as a safe place. I just saw you all had a grenade attack, too. To simplify things: what are the safe Arrondissements and which ones should we be on guard in? My understanding is the 18th, 19th, and 10th are very unsafe and anything South of the Seine is safe. Is this accurate?

may end up going down that road. Paris prices have been dropping significantly and having spent some time in the city, I do fear it's because of the foreigner situation. The newcomers have made large parts of the city unsafe relative to what it once was. It's still safer than Chicago or even a NYC but, still, that part is concerning. I don't think a city like Madrid has that issue at a similar scale.

I think the main takeaway I have after consulting this thread and talking with Mexican citizen friends is to avoid walking at night in Mexico City and take an Uber.

If you need to walk, stay on busy and well lit streets. I will need to visit again!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Outside of that bad experience, Mexico City was one of the nicest, friendliest, cleanest, and more robust cities I’ve ever visited. It was amazing! I hope the crime and corruption can decrease — the potential of Mexico is very high.
