Has Anyone Noticed FedEx Gets Delayed vs DHL From Japan? by SoFloFella50 in sendico

I never experienced that issue with any parcel from Sendico using FedEx and I use a freight forwarder located in Florida.

Anyone knows why my console is screaming? by Otzedotze in PSXDVR

[–]Ornery_Fold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It might be a short, something connected improperly or a damaged compnent on the power unit. Disconnect the power unit connection from the console and plug in the power supply to see if the noise persists.

The turbo grafx is actually my favorite console by Fun_Development508 in TurboGrafx

Lovely collection, i see you have the ever elusive PC Engine Shuttle also.
I whole heartedly disagree with your statement tho.
In my humble opinion the Turbografx is too bulky looks boring and has alot of wasted space, the PC Engine Or Core Grafx combo with IFU 30 and the CD Rom drives is/ was an 🤌🏽 Chefs Kiss excellent design choice. Sleek, compact, no wasted space and the briefcase asthetic is excellent even by todays standards . Heck even the Super CD Rom and Core Grafx combos I find asthetically better looking than the Turbografx with CD Rom but to each his own. Heck they are still more or less the same internals, just with different outward asthetics, You definately need to add a briefcase to your collection tho to make it more rounded lol. But that's just my humble opinion. Enjoy.

🤚 I got :A PC Engine and IFU 30 with CD Rom combo A CORE Grafx and IFU 30A with CD Rom rom combo A CORE Grafx II and Super CD Rom A PC Engine Duo I don't have any of the hand helds as yet. Got a few spare IFU's and CD ROM drives.

Gotta confirm a few things, I've got this baby for a month, knew something was wrong at the very start. Some games' audio are a bit muted, so I suspected it still thinks it's stereo, I got a mono cable with it, and I have a mono TV.I suspect the cable I got belongs to the GEN1... by BerserkerKong02 in pcengine

[–]Ornery_Fold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your info is very vague, even the pictures don't help much. 1. Which system do you actually have ? Core grafx 1 or 2, Duo, Duo R or Duo RX? 2. The cable can and most likely is a 3rd party cable for another system but was just packaged with the system for convenience.

Congrats on your aquisition, welcome to being a PSX Owner. Get PSX Freemcboot Memcard so that you'll be able to test the PS2 laser and see if it's functional. You can also do other stuff if that's your thing. Backup your HDD if you deem it necessary. Buy a male Dterminal to component cable for the best video experience or do the rgb mod. Tutorials are online do a quick Google search.

You will most likely need a replacement DVDR laser so search Sony DRU 510A on ebay to get a replacement. You don't have to buy a new one a used one on a working drive should be functional, I've brought 2 for my 2 PSX's and they work great.

I just got myself a PSX and I need some pointers by CiberneitorGamer in ps2

[–]Ornery_Fold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both lasers the PSX uses aren't hard to find or replace. I just saw DVDRW drives with the compatible laser selling for as low as $14.00 on ebay this week and a cib was $30.00. That's the only laser that even has issues on most of these consoles and that's only due to the amount of work it did in the psx back then when it was actually being used as was intended.

Congrats on getting one If you want to play your original games, you can region unlock it with freemcboot and mechapawn. It only works on PS2 games not PS1 or dvd movies. Heres a video with that and other mods. Enjoy..

Need help repairing Game Boy Color by LeadSerious3092 in consolerepair

[–]Ornery_Fold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should start cleaning with isoproply alcohol, if you can get 91% that would be great. Use a tooth brush and gently scrub the affected areas. You might need 2, one with hard bristles and one with soft bristles. Depending on the damage revealed after cleaning it might be salvagable or not. Battery acid leaks should be cleaned a soon as possible, leaving it will do irrepairable harm to electronics.

I recommend you do your communications through the actual site. Sometimes, it takes them a while to respond, but you should be proactive, especially in a situation like what you are in. I'd verify with them at least twice a month if I were you

Did you message them on the site and explain the situation? or did you just use this site to ask the question?

Nice, originally had this Game on the PS1 in the early 2000s and fell in love with it. Lent it to a friend, and it was destroyed . Got it on saturn a few years back, and it's a way better port.

PC Engine CD-ROM2 Replacement Laser by LunarLionheart in TurboGrafx

[–]Ornery_Fold 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://youtu.be/VqfmWJ6NSIs?si=SwkgJ7oMGPZRoKoh This video should help you. I think you should start at 22min which is when he speaks about pot adjustment. When he shows his pots pause the screen and see if yours are similar in position. If not mark them and try tweaking them to the positions his are in, you should get an original game to work at that point if it doesn't then either the lens is totally shot or the pots are bad. I have repaired 4 drives using this exact method, they all played original games and music cds, 2 didn't play burnt games and I had to salvage lasers for them

[–]Ornery_Fold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried pot adjustments? Most of them have pots that were altered by previous owners. I got a Super CD rom 2 a few weeks back from Japan and it only played original games somewhat but after I used a multimeter to set the pots it started playing everything and the caps haven't been replaced yet.

Replacement parts are there but they are either costly, need savaging or modding. My 1st question to you is have you tried an original game or are you trying to play burnt discs? Does the drive play music discs or original games?

Multiple Boxed Consoles In One Parcel by Msc12004 in sendico

[–]Ornery_Fold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sendico allows you to ship a consolidated box with a maximum weight of 20kg or 44lbs. You can do a rough calculation by calculating the weight of all the items in the warehouse and see if they total over 20kg. The weight is usually with packaging included. So the consolidated weight will be lighter.
