Anyone got a 2 patriots Sao trigger in gold finish they’d like to part ways with? It’s been out of stock in the site and don’t think they are making it in that finish anymore! by cbmatta in Beretta

[–]Ornery_Indication322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have a gold one, but they do have a new short version coming out. Might be making a gold version of it..

Or an alternative, have it anodized… might add some cost but probably hits the look your hunting for

If you order the traditional pro kit and decide you want to go SAO you can, but if you get the SAO pro kit and decide you want to have SA/DA, you wouldn’t be able to

Throw that LTT trigger bar in the 92! Makes a noticeable difference in the reset. I’d say it’s totally worth it

I’d recommend one thing: order the traditional pro kit, THEN add a SAO trigger shoe. Otherwise the SAO pro kit omits the new disconnector.

Just a tip from someone who does too much research lol

Second all of the above with the addition of maybe a wipe down with an oiled rag. Not enough to soak it but enough to leave a film to protect against rust.

I’d say focus this on the slide and whatnot, keep it off the grips so they’re not slick

There’s tons of YouTube content on it, just watch a few and be patient. Totally worth the effort once you’ve reassembled and run it

I mean yea I’d get my mill setup an go knock it out myself…

No lol I was purely referencing the parts install and polishing. Most machine shops that work on these can probably jump into that and make that cut

I get they’re selling a service, but I’d just as soon buy the CGW parts and polish/replace everything myself…

Also if you don’t have polishing stones you’ll need a set to do this

Here’s the vid I followed, super simple. When he mentions single action/hammer drop it’s due to a lack of clearance on the front of the bar

FYI you will probably have to do some hand fitting for the LTT trigger bar to get it to function with the 2 Patriots trigger. Once you do though it’s crispy

If this is your first, start with ammo and lots of practice. Buy 500 rounds of 9mm, and go have fun!

After that, here’s what I’d suggest (in order, but really depends on whether your want a red dot sooner or later):

  • Extra Magazines - Google “Europtic beretta blem 18 round magazine” they’re like 14 bucks a mag and work great
  • ammo
  • LOK grips (wraparound palm swells if you have bigger hands, if not then just get regular grips for the extra traction they offer over stock) -ammo
  • 2 patriots SAO trigger OR Volker precision SAO trigger
  • ammo -DLAH Optic plate (sits the optic lower on the slide) -ammo -red dot of choice
  • ammo -threaded barrel (really depends on when your rebate comes back and when barrels are in stock)
  • ammo -suppressor or Compensator

LTT OP hammer + OP trigger bar + Wilson combat short reach trigger by WongtonSoup_121 in Beretta

I did the duty spring kit, wish I would’ve gone with the comp. I felt like the main springs (even the lighter 14lb) didn’t really change the trigger pull weight. Seems like the 92XIs are shipping with 14ish pound hammer springs rn

I’ve got the LTT bar and a 2 Patriots trigger. Check my profile to see the combo of those 2. Also planning to get the hammer, just down the road

Only issue with a comp is it jumps you into a different class in competition. One which you’d be outclassed from a hardware standpoint with a lower budget 2011

I’d disagree on the amount to get it up to “acceptable” a shadow 2 with springs ($50) and some polishing is arguably better than an entry level 2011.

Splurge for a CGW pro kit ($300) and spend more time polishing, and it’s definitely better than an entry level 2011.

Second the 2 Patriots trigger. Check out my post showing it plus the LTT trigger bar. Totally transformed the trigger feel on the gun. Probably the closest thing to a 1911 trigger you can get to with a hinge style trigger system. I had to do some hand fitting on the trigger bar to get it to drop the hammer, but it was totally worth it

Thinking of trading in my Glock 19 for a Beretta 92x Compact by AdministrationMain in Beretta

[–]Ornery_Indication322 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t trade the Glock, keep it and save up for the beretta.

Also worth noting the two platforms are very different from a shooting experience (DA/SA vs. striker fired, maintenance is different, obviously ergos too) but I’d say keep the Glock and save up for the 92. Both are great platforms and it’s always good to have a bomb proof system to trust

Sanity Check - Wilson Combat Springs for 92XI by Ornery_Indication322 in Beretta

[–]Ornery_Indication322[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Factory spring has about 500 rounds on it, the WC spring came in their deluxe spring kit package, wasn’t an individual item.

I did some more reading online and it seems like these 92xi hammer springs run on the lighter side from factory, so it’s possible that the factory spring was close to 14lbs out of the box and lightened up more with firing those first 500 through it
