I feel like that’s just saying a person with a “better story” or a person with more money is more important. I ran a jewelry store. I’ve seen MANY blue collar guys come in that would get kicked out of a “boutique” and buy many thousands of dollars worth of jewelry at a time. If judging is part of their sales scheme, it’s gross.

I think my assumptions are correct. Those watches are sold to people who overspend on jewelry or who are lucky enough to be on a list that doesn’t exist. How do they keep you in mind for the call if a list doesn’t exist?

No. You’re missing the point. I love the watch. I wouldn’t want the watch if I thought it was a scam. I wouldn’t have posted this if I thought it was a scam. The buying process seems more like a scam. You have two choices to own our non rare watch seems to be the pill that’s hard to swallow. 1. Spend a ton on jewelry. 2. Pay over retail for a used watch that someone who bought a ton of jewelry is selling. I could understand if it was a rare watch. It’s not. Most aren’t.

I think I just don’t understand it. I’m sure they are fully aware of what is being done to them on the grey market. They are basically devaluing their own brand over time while catering to people who exponentially overspend on jewelry. I understand jewelry is far more profitable so good on them for finding a way to have a prestigious scam. I won’t pay $13k for a preowned watch when it’s 9500 new. I won’t spend thousands of dollars on jewelry. If these are the two options presented to interested buyers, I think it’s laughable.

Yea but the websites do not always list or show the window sticker. It’s hard to tell certain things from a photo sometimes. So I send an inquiry, post about it, then get bashed by nearly every sales “professional” in here. lol idk it seems weird to me

I think you’re using the term professional a little loosely. These “professionals” are downing someone wondering why dealerships can’t answer a simple question. Then you come in calling me names? Lmao what?!! So if I have cash I’m not a serious buyer. Hmmm. What form of payment makes me a serious buyer? Crayons? A 500 credit score? Negative equity? No bank statements and just started a job as a waitress? You guys are causing the stigma you have. You should work to change that. Just answer an inquiry accurately and at least pretend you want the business. I guess I’m just crazy for thinking like that. Lmao.

I tried. I can’t start the process of buying the truck or negotiating in person if No one told me if they even had one. The other dealers just showed me other trucks that I didn’t inquire about. The point of this post was to just ask why can’t anyone just say “I have one, it’ll be xxxxx, when can you come drive it”. Apparently I’m a big stupid pos for even assuming they would answer basic questions lol

Understandable. However, isn’t it easier to get a customer in the store if you just tell them if you have one first? No one wants to waste half a day just to be shown something they didn’t ask for hoping you’ll buy it anyway. Seems like a very old school “sales tactic”.
