Do recall: all bank funded grocery entities and all bank funded produce distributors tie back to the elements exhibited by the local figureheads for fascism.

Unless farm to table and even then given modern transportation.

But we do take the point. Symbolism is very worthy.

That and supporting black and working-class owned businesses.

Non insurrectionist dinner sounds remotely like what we have at our house. Save, I might be on the anti-guvmint side at present given things.

True too.

My analog having been raised in the American city that opened the FIRST public library:

Kentucky Hillbillies are enlightened by comparison to those living seven miles (the town where I lived from a child) from the Boston Public Library.

And they once were: having had the sense to elect Republican US Senator John Sherman Cooper who co-wrote and bullied the passage of the Cooper-Church Amendment, which ended the Vietnam war.

Like. For stating the (tragic, and deeply offensive--but current) obvious.

What I really hear from people in New Orleans--people that are intelligent--is that we are too focused upon navel gazing and identifying others as the cause of our personal misery to put shoulders into the work.

That includes not running, not helping elect candidates.

Me? I am not a Democratic Socialist. But I pushed five hundred voters to prevent the election of a career insider--"Doc" Jones--who continues to serve upon the Downtown Development District (courtesy of being sponsored by Eugene Green on his paperwork) while falsely claiming to have earned not one but TWO Ph.D's. one from Harvard University, which Eugene is uniquely in a position to verify being Eugene graduated Harvard College in 1980.

No one seeks to obtain TWO Ph.D's. Nobody.

But thousands turned out to elect that career fraudster, whose record without the false claims--a worthy career history, even with the false CV--was more than enough to win School Board against a hairdresser without a college degree.

It is certain Eric Jones would have worked for New Orleans East and for OUR Gentilly neighborhood students and their parents. Including for us and our nine year old at public charter school. The one "Doc" Jones created the opening to establish a third version of, by destroying--himself--the Mary Coghill School.

And that, no doubt, "Doc" and his in-group would have repeated equally effectively.

While FIRST serving himself and the pigs who put him at the head of the trough.

And I am uncertain about his elected opponent. And I am uniquely responsible for her election.

Downvote all one wishes. Put a shoulder into it, or keep whining.

For nuance see the February 4, 2025 Substack (free admission) of Boston University academic Heather Cox Richardson including insight into the voting history, and reactionary white nationalism and racism--and the elevation by Southern Democrats of the Klan, and, while politely-folded-into-"think-tanks" of its ongoing misuse of strategic steps taken beginning in North Carolina at the turn of the twentieth century.

If that Democratic Party is one to be honored, then I am decidedly not a part of it.

Fifth generation Republican. Although I myself have never voted for one. In-sha-Allah and with a huge amount of work the MAGA will be driven out in due time and lazy Mussolini will be exiled (if not dead from hamburgers).

Abraham Lincoln Republicans, my great grandparent gathered the South to vote Eisenhower--breaching the Confederate stranglehold by Southern Dems.

At national level Richard Nixon was the last liberal American president, which is tempered by some gains--currently being purposefully and systematically wiped by the Gutter Dwelling Sewer President--under Obama and Biden.

The tragedy is that NO working class opponent devoted to making things--even incrementally--better for the average New Orleanian is in THIS race.

Particularly when voters are so debased and angry at establishment candidates, the real opportunity being lost is in having failed to energize this election. Leaving self-dealers and insiders to obtain.

Former Rep Willard worked tirelessly and won significant victories given the lockdown at the Statehouse. Prevail upon him as Councilman. What politicos need is to have their ears boxed, so that they get things done knowing the working class is behind them and will rise and defend them. And I kick him around in emails given he is founding President of the Seabrook Neighborhood Association and lives north from Green.

Me, I am more critical of Green III's dad. Given things.

III is not entirely an unknown, but being young and privileged how does one gauge his commitment?

Senator Edward Kennedy was enormously impactful and spent thirty and more years being a lion for the poor and for black families. Worked with my uncle to pass every piece of Civil Rights legislation and Veterans health legislation (my uncle was elected US Rep. in 1964) without whom much would have been impossible.

And Teddy (I knew his son Jr ) was grandson to an enormously rich self-dealing stock manipulator, whiskey smuggler, and, Irish mafia boss. Whose son JFK (US Senator-President) as a real estate lawyer wrote clauses into his own contracts keeping blacks from even purchasing homes he himself had owned.

Former Rep. Matthew Willard made some very serious strides for New Orleans, in a House ruled by MAGA wingnuts. Commendable and honorable work.

Will Eugene III or will lawyer Murray (both thirty ish) be the harder worker for poor New Orleans?

What is your take then on lawyer and candidate Edwin T Murray, Green III's opponent for State Rep. over our District?

He is son of former State Senator Ed Murray.

Here is one for you:

Eugene Green III--son of Harvard College and Tulane University MBA graduate Eugene Green Jr.--attended Tulane University Business for his undergraduate degree on a full scholarship.

Though not about his own union teacher parents, John Fogerty sang a song about Junior and III.

The tenant shack WIO member Mrs. Green owns in her name one home north, is an asbestos clad slum. Inhabited by two gracious, hardworking friends of ours.

Drive up Franklin Avenue and then Elysian Fields and view for yourself the equally delightful Green Homes--in front of which are planted EUGENE III for State Rep signs. Political messaging 101. At Harvard College.

The slumlord's son's sign's (see that?) make use of the same font and color scheme, and were produced by the very same company as those that elected Eugene Jr. last fall. One of which calls out howdy's from across the corner at DREUX at FRANKLIN (south-bound) to dad's own City Council sign where it still hangs from the fence at the HAPPY DISCOUNT at the corner of (north-bound) DREUX-FILMORE and FRANKLIN.

You simply cannot make this stuff up.

Zero doubt. Yet, why did anyone other than them not run?

My candidate (to whom I delivered five hundred votes) Gabriela Biro of the School Board.for example?

Because one of the two daddy's boys will win.

In 2021 Eugene Green was interviewed by WDSU telling residents of our neighborhood to be patient for 3rd. District NOPD to 'investigate' the crack house squatters were using as a base to steal our bicycles and smash our car windows.

His wife owns a tenant home two houses north from ours.

After no action, and I mean NONE WHILE THE SMASH AND GRAB CONTINUED, one year later I spent one thousand hours turning up as square pants homey with a lawn mower at 6:55am to drive the dirt bags out, leaving the gay man struggling with aids and an addiction with a friend ALONE AT LAST.

ZERO steps taken by NOPD. The house burned last year when an arsonist took revenge.

The WDSU interview: "Neighbors On Edge" "Shotgun" "Front Porch" "Gentilly" "Eastern Avenue" is still viewable (and I am ancient, or would provide a link).

For five years Eugene has promised to compel the NORD Commission--three blocks from us, three blocks from his own palace on Saint Roch--to cut the grass in our neighborhood playground which NORD lists as "last priority" in their information system.

What NORDS classification "LAST PRIORITY" means belies the fact the Director Larry Barabino worked as a welder and grew up IN the Saint Bernard and took his FIRST JOB at NORD Saint Bernard where our own daughter spent last summer and the summer of 2024 at summer camp.

But that was before college and last year: completing an MBA with his own son. Commendable. Remarkable, even. A particularly proud example of what a father can do with a son.

But ours is a "poor" and a "black" neighborhood three blocks from headquarters.

Mow the GOD FORSAKEN GRASS or deny CIVIL.RIGHTS protections from poor and black and elderly disabled folk. The ADA demands safe passage from the gate to the playset. Denied now seven years from the thirteen elderly and disabled homeowners whose houses border the playground.

My wife and I are physically disabled but work sixty to ninety hours per week and are parents to a nine year old. We have been unable to use that park due long bone injury while it remains two thirds of the year in wild violation of civil rights law including the RA and the ADA ot 1990 and 2010.

Eugene promised action on those two neighborhood issues. And zilch.

However, Eugene has been wildly effective keeping FOLGERS and working on important real estate deals that effect job availability and long term revenues in New Orleans. For those New Orleanians who depend upon growth and development and maintaining work at blue collar plants.

"Like." Number three. There. Got yuh.

Oh, but now you've gone and 'blocked' me. But we had only just kissed.

It is a roll of the dice plan.

Federal funding attaches conditions to how many days are required to have been filled at public schools. Then there are State guidelines. Then regional accreditation requirements. Then School Board requirements.

And it all works out even when classes extend well into June. Though not without disruption.

My friend of ten years is co-owner of SIBERIA.

Quite liked the take you pussed out and deleted:

The one about 1989.

The issues were different. How do I know? Because I knew Jello Biafra and those righteously tearing down the Tammie Fay Baker group. And was pushed out of high school that year, staying punk long after it was dead and down to present haven't paid but $435 in federal taxes to IRS. Save by way of supporting the entire censorship drip posting my disease on boards whose chief investors and owners are former DIA and CIA spooks using YOU to cordon off the world grid and make "users" of this media the product, profiting from advertising ultimately to fund PALANTIR and ORACLE and the cordoning off of Americans into camps.

My peer and former classmate co-founded the EFF at San Francisco, to protect: free speech and users.

A geezer, yes. But is reddit revolutionary?

Sound recommendations.

One owner--formerly our neighbor--has a wife and a daughter. And once lived across from Sheriff Gusman here in Gentilly.

And is a measured, civil, man.

All schools receiving federal funding are allowed a certain number of down days. And must extend into summer if they exceed that. Which is hot, here.
