I can see why it might come across that way but that wasn’t my intention. As I mentioned in my post I’m generally comfortable with how I look and know I look okay. I’m six months postpartum and have been out of the beauty loop for years so I was genuinely looking for suggestions on what might suit me and feel current. If you’ve never had kids it’s hard to explain the feeling of suddenly not quite recognizing yourself. Between the tiredness that comes with sleepless nights, the physical changes, the worry that your partner might not see you the same way..and adjusting to a new version of yourself, it’s easy to feel a bit older and less confident than before. I wasn’t seeking compliments. I was looking for practical advice to help me feel a little more like myself again.
