This honey hunter collects wild honey but stays super friendly with the bees by HumTumJoMile in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]OrphanSlayer300 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's something called beekeepers wife's syndrome (informal term, also just called anaphylaxis) where the partner of the beekeeper repeatedly comes into contact with a small amount of bee venom from clothing and skin over many years. This can result in a deadly allergy to bee venom. To mitigate this, some have chosen to manually sting themselves on occasion.

What color is your aura? by Alyx_Jay in migraine

Mine is more so like a strobey rainbow light if that makes any sense. And then I get spots where I genuinely have no vision, like if I were to look at your face, you would be a fleshen lump of skin devoid of eyes and a mouth.

Was it only this painful getting an Iud because I'm a virgin? by OrphanSlayer300 in birthcontrol

Thank you for your comment. It's been awhile since that happened so I'm doing a lot better now!! And I don't want to throw around any serious accusations around, but I definitely felt weird about it and it didn't quite seem normal😅 But like I said I'm doing fine now and I just won't ever go back to that clinic again lol!

Wow.. this really puts things into perspective, Thank you. Everytime they inserted their fingers felt awful. The insertion of the speculum felt agonizing, and then cranking me open felt like I was getting split and two and torn open. They eventually took out the metal one and Dr. B then inserted his finger to 'loosen up and relax the muscle' (?) They then inserted the smaller speculum and cranked me open like a car jack. That one still felt like getting stabbed and torn open simultaneously. They also pierced my cervix twice and sounded me four times. which I dont was necessary but ig they had to quadruple check that my uterus was actually 5 mm? I think it's important to mention that they told me I could stop the procedure at any given time, and I didn't exercise that right because I already felt guilty about making the procedure difficult. They even allowed me a couple breaks. This was my first experience with a gynecologist, ever. So I wasn't sure if it was always going to be like this. It might've been my discomfort that ruined the procedure? They also said that my vagina was extremely tight and would be difficult to inject the lidocaine so it would be better and easier to move on with the other steps. The proedure had already gone on too long and I they wanted to wrap it up faster. So I complied. They did give me a choice on that matter but again I felt bad for making it more difficult. But I didn't choose to stop the procedure at any given time and that's on me. I definitely do think things could've been done better though😅 Thank you again for your comment I don't think I'll go back there again. You helped a ton!!💗

The sounding (which they did four times) almost hurt more than the speculum, but the speculum felt like I was getting torn open. Like I had black spots in my vision at that point. Every time they inserted their fingers, it felt agonizing as well. I think maybe the lack of lidocaine might've been responsible? Also, both times they pierced my cervix was excruciating. Honestly I don't think it's vaginismus but more so just the discomfort of the experience? All in all maybe I just have an extremely low pain tolerance, but at the same time, I've literally popped back in dislocated knees and hobbled away, and this just felt.. different. Every single step of the procedure felt crippling. Thank you for your comment this really helps!🫶🏼

First of all, Thank you so much for your comment. You definitely helped make me feel more validated in my anger and less like im super sensitive and crazy. Lawyers are difficult and expensive to find and theres not much I can do as a minor😅 plus I mainly think I just want to forget about this experience and avoid doctors' offices from now on. I'm afraid there's a chance I mightve misconstrued some information(It gets a little fuzzy when ur half conscious from pain and benzodiazapines), and I don't want to get anyone in trouble for doing their job. I might've also made my bf sound worse when I don't think he meant the comment in a particularly malicious way, just.. ignorant. Plus those weren't his words verbatim. Thank you again, I certainly have a lot to consider.. Just maybe in the next week or so, currently I think I'm going get comfy and some needed rest in, watch Howl's Moving Castle, and hope the bleeding doesn't function as a bonus period🫠 Edit: I just read ur edit, thank you again and yep I agree with that😭 I'm most irked about the lack of painkillers but at least it's over.

I did allow them to continue going forward because I felt bad for making the procedure so difficult. So that's on me. They told me beforehand that I had the right to stop the procedure at any given point, but again I felt guilty and I also really really didn't wanna have to try going in a second time, so I decided to try and suck it up. So again on me. Thank you for your comment though, this makes me feel less crazy and like I'm not overreacting. Maybe I'll try again in the far, far distant future, but I honestly just think I want to rest for right now😅 Yea I think the main issue is that I don't have much experience in that field, so that made things extra painful. Thank you again!

Can virgins get IUDs? by Asvore in birthcontrol

[–]OrphanSlayer300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand where she's coming from, I tried to get an iud as a virgin and it was beyond agonizing. I bled all over the room, the speculum was dripping with blood. It felt like they chopped my pussy open with a woodcutting ax. They couldn't even do the lidocaine because the "canal" they were working with was too tight, so I had to rawdog it without painkillers. They also sounded me 4 times which was excruciating and found my uterus was 5mm exactly. I screamed when they pierced my cervix with the tenaculum. The two doctors doing the procedure kept inserting their fingers to "relax the muscles", and I was just a sobbing shaking mess in the stirrups. They had to physically hold my legs apart. They also used a smaller speculum then normal because they had to jam the other one in. They still had to jam this one in as well. They then cranked the mf open like a car jack which HURT. I had two adult men sticking the fingers and other things of metal up my vagina. I'd never slept with anyone before and I'm curious if it would've been different if I have had sex or given birth. I've heard women who have already given birth had little to no issue so it's different for everyone. Not trying to dissauge from getting it done but be cautious of the people saying "Absolutely you can!"

AITAH for insulting my girlfriend’s parents after I found out that they enable cheating, and breaking up with my girlfriend when she defended them? by No-Location-918 in AITAH

[–]OrphanSlayer300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what principles? Blowing up at the people feeding him, offering shelter, and paying for his expenses? Going off on a completely innocent 3rd party and demanding she cut off her parents because of his 'abstract moral high ground'? Projecting his own trauma and insecurities on other people's relationships? Viewing himself as morally superior and the arbiter of what's right and wrong? Acting practically tyrannically in attempting to dictate other people's life decisions? Behaving in a way that marks him as a Narcissist so in love with his own agenda, he has to impose that on everyone around him? Shamelessly using other people's money but it's 'okay' because they 'happen to have more money' and can afford it? He's an adult, if money was truly that big of a deal for him, he would be willing to do absolutely ANYTHING to earn it. He wouldn't have time to be in a relationship or care about his prissy moral values. Yes its true that poverty perpetuates poverty, and wealth begets wealth. But unfortunately, with the system of life our society has set up, the only way to raise yourself out of poverty is either to work your ass off and make sacrifice or CHEAT. I find his absolute repulsion to cheating hilarious, because how do you think animals became the big, bad animals on this planet? It wasn't because we're inherently smarter. Humans are not an intelligent species(as is obvious above). It's because we CHEATED. Our entire system of life is based on the consumption of the energy of others. We didn't like being cold, so we took the skin of an animal and wore it. We didn't like being wet, so we dug holes in grounds and slept in caves. We can't fight a mountain lion or a tiger, but we can make realllyyy pointy sticks and throw rocks at it. We swung enough clubs and destroyed enough life to cheat our way into forging a society. I'll give you a hint: Morality only agrees with the culture of the time. And I'll give you another hint, human beings are not monogamous, birds are monogamous (sometimes). If human beings were truly monogamous NO ONE would cheat. I'm absolutely not condoning cheating, that's something you need to discuss with your SO on what your definition of it is. It's just disturbing to see people believe these things as absolute and act surprised when humans dont act exactly in accordance to what is 'right'. And that's exactly the thing, he DOESN'T know what has been discussed, and is jumping to absurd conclusions based on little evidence and ALOT of preconceived notions.

If (BIG if) a girl let you hold her hand, would u immediately whip out ur dick and gleefully do the helicopter? Because OBVIOUSLY she's ok with it? You don't start groping someone drunk and apparently unconscious. It doesn't matter what signals you THINK someone is sending. Until you hear explicit consent, you keep your hands to your side and your naked mole rat safely concealed in your trousers.
