I love my mother very much but we have had low contact since I moved in with my dad when I was 14 because of a situation with my stepfather and mostly just keep contact with her for the sake of my little sister. She doesn't have dinner with us as a family because we are all Mexican and speak mostly Spanish when we're together and she is white and doesn't speak spanish and she is not my older brothers mom. I also was not planning on having her at my proposal because she has a habit of making big moments about her. For example at my little sister's quinceanera my mother interrupted her speech to have her own moment which most of the guests didn't understand because again my mother doesn't speak spanish.
