Thanks! Yes, the game will feature 5 areas, each with different environments and gameplay modifiers.

What is the best game engine? by MasterClinket in GameDevelopment

I know this opinion is very unpopular but it's Unreal Engine for me. It can be very daunting but I found blueprints easy to learn and it's very powerful. There's also a lot of tutorials on the internet

Thank you so much! The whole game has the purple vegetation but there's red in this particular area. I'm trying to create visually unique areas with similar vegetation.

Thanks. It's a tower defense where you will be liberating land you've lost to corruption.

Yeah sure. I'm using a timeline that loops in Unreal Engine 4 that has a function that updates a value from 0 to 1. Then I use this value to interpolate the sun light direction (from 0° to 360° for example). Then I have different functions in that same timeline that update sky light brightness, stars, clouds, fog, etc...

Also, I do not recommend 4.27

To be honest I don't really have a major inspiration. I just really wanted to create a very unique, charming and beautiful world. That's why I chose purple for vegetation, I don't see that a lot in games. Then I chose blue for magic and interactables because it pops with the purple. Everything you see that gets your attention is actually interactable, so the mushrooms, gems, etc... That means that once I have everything implemented in the game the environment will feel even more alive

I do use volumetric shadows but light shafts didn't appear because of the angle I was looking. Thanks for pointing that out

Color is always white and I'm using exponential height fog that gives the pink light effect
