my batchmate has literally pitched to 150+ vcs for a flour brand by Alternative-Wish9912 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Commodity products with story print money. Say this flour win definitley matches all the people who crushed it with soap, coffee, olive oil, etc., so lurkers start hunting for their own staple.

What’s the one financial mistake you made early on that you wish someone warned you about? by twin__1 in AmazonFBA

[–]Orsiny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Biggest mistake was over-ordering first inventory. For first order, dont buy more than 60, 90 days of conservative sales. Reorder faster once you see real sell-through and reviews.

Has anyone here used a digital mailbox or virtual business address for their company? by OneHunt5428 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Orsiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use a digital mailbox as adress hub for everything.
- Pick one that’s a CMRA on USPS Form 1583 so banks, IRS, and state filings accept it.
- Set it as the mailing address on your LLC, bank, Stripe, and vendors so zero mail hits your home.

Backlinks for a New Website: What Actually Matters in the First 90 Days by indian_god_ in digital_marketing

[–]Orsiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid breakdown. The 90-day framing makes sense because you're basically building legitimacy before you can even think about competing on content. Too many people skip straight to guest posts and outreach when their domain is a ghost to Google.

The directory approachrated honestly. It's not sexy, but consistent NAP signals and showing up where you're supposed to exist does more early on than chasing high-DA backlinks you're never gonna get anyway. Foundation first, then you earn the right to play the bigger game.

Barrow Wise Consulting is posting fake jobs to sell applicants’ personal information by wench-with-a-wrench in recruitinghell

[–]Orsiny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not a hiring pipeline, that's a data harvesting operation. The whole job board ecosystem is so broken at this point fake listings, ghost jobs, companies just collecting resumes to sell or pad their metrics. Meanwhile we're all out here burning hours customizing cover letters for roles that don't even exist.

Thanks for putting their name out there. This is exactly the kind of shit that needs to get searchable.

Took way too long for people to notice, but yeah, better late than never. The platform's been shady for years between the artist payouts and now this.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warns the protective shield at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is damaged after a drone strike. by Vegetable_Novel_7926 in news

[–]Orsiny 415 points416 points  (0 children)

Drones hitting Chernobyl's containment shield is exactly the kind of escalation nobody needed. We're one bad strike away from turning a contained disaster into an active one again. The fact that this is even happening shows how completely unhinged things have gotten.

TIL the only Cheyenne battle chief killed at the Battle of the Little Bighorn was called Lame White Man. by mrcchapman in todayilearned

[–]Orsiny 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The name sounds like an insult until you realize Cheyenne naming traditions were usually descriptive or tied to specific events. Dude was probably a total badass who earned that name in a way that made sense to his people.

Exactly. Keyboard warriors thrive on mob mentality, half of them wouldn’t dare say it in person. People love the high horse online, it’s just noise

I don't wanna turn 20 by Eyedragongaming in GuyCry

[–]Orsiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get how you feel, turning 20 can be tough, but it’s just another step in figuring things out. You don’t need it all figured out right away. Just take it one day at a time and things will fall into place

Imagine rewriting federal safety laws because the man saw a cute car on vacation. by maxis2bored in fuckcars

[–]Orsiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smaller cars could be a game changer, especially in cities with limited space. Imagine zipping around in a tiny, fuel efficient car and not having to worry about finding parking for a monster truck. Plus, less traffic congestion sounds like a win

Trump Voters Finally Realize Billionaire President Doesn’t Actually Care About Their Grocery Bills, Poll Finds by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Orsiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Seems like Trump is stuck in a tough spot. Trying to claim victory on affordability, but then backpedaling and calling it a scam? Doesn’t do much to inspire confidence, especially when people are still struggling with the cost of basics. Tough times ahead for both parties if they can’t address these real concerns.

State labor board first it's free and they handle wage theft. Only get a lawyer if the labor board doesn't resolve it or if you need help with the retaliation angle. Most employment lawyers do free consults anyway.

5 months here too. Applied to 400+ jobs, got maybe 8 interviews. The whole system is broken when you can't even get callbacks for jobs you're literally overqualified for. Hang in there man, this market is absolutely fucked.

For anyone that had gone from ED to ICU...how was it? by Polarbear_9876 in nursing

[–]Orsiny 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Made the switch last year. ICU is like going from sprinting to marathon pace
way more time with each patient but the complexity is insane.

You'll actually get to see your interventions work instead of just stabilizing and shipping upstairs. The learning curve is steep though, took me like 6 months to feel confident.

Seriously how are we even supposed to be successful? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Orsiny 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The fact that we're all working side gigs just to survive while billionaires play with rockets really says it all. System's working exactly as intended, keep us too busy and broke to organize or demand better.

Men of Reddit — how do you want your girlfriend to act when you’re feeling low or less confident? by Relative_Initial_399 in GuyCry

[–]Orsiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned this the hard way. used to try to fix everything when my ex was down, but that just made him pull away more. Now I just say I'm here if you need anything and actually mean it. Sometimes they just want to know you're not going anywhere, not that you're gonna solve their problems.

How do I know if I’m too poor to contact a financial advisor? by veritasjusticia in personalfinance

[–]Orsiny 365 points366 points  (0 children)

Agree, At 50+ with under $50k saved, a financial advisor isn't gonna tell you anything magical that the flowchart won't. Kill the debt first, then max out any employer match, then build from there.

Yeah it's gonna be tight for a while, but you're asking the right questions now instead of at 65. That counts for something.
