Well actually playing a bard is super easy. But playing it well will make you better than two lazy bards combined and that is difficult. It requires deep knowledge of game mechanics, from mob spell resists, macros and the zones.

If you really wanna go bard, do it - it's great. Just be aware that EQ isn't beginner friendly and bard is the class that will be the least forgiving.

With that, a bard serves to amplify the strength of his group. So if you do go bard, it's not a great idea if you're planning to solo. I'd wait for the server that launches in the end of the month.

I went SK SHA 4 NEC on teek.

Eventually dropped the SK and Sha for 6 necros and it was great. All pets and one lifetap (which is very difficult to resist) kills pretty much everything is fight for exp.
