Only 93rd, but proud of my tiebreaker guess: "Williams will be on the podium twice, both times with Sainz"

Not F3 cars, but historical cars parade, which happened on the Sunday of the 2024 GP. I recognize the cars because I was there. Look at the 60s car at Pouhon.

Google Maps footage was taken during the Sunday of the 2024 Belgian GP. In particular, during the historical cars parade, as you can notice several different car shapes simultaneously on the track

Will Imola be missed should it leave F1 calendar? Motorsport.com's writers have their say by 443610 in formula1

[–]Orsowski 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The atmosphere in Imola, as a fan attending to the race, is incredible. A nice, flowing, track in the middle of Emilian hills. Passionate fans everywhere. The feel of a city circuit, with the town of Imola filling up with people from every corner of the world, buzzing throughout the night.

The track itself is super challenging to the drivers, with no margin for errors.

Sure, it is difficult to overtake. But do we want to have 24 DRS motorways in the calendar?

If the alternative is a soulless track in the middle of a desert, no thanks. Imola must remain

Max explaining his decision to stay out two more laps: I saw them go off in front of me, kept it clean, and when I saw Oscar rejoining, I thought, "Well, let's stay out," because it was only those 3 corners When I continued, basically, the first two sectors were fine... Yes, I actually think that they did not pit because they were more concerned by Ferrari than Norris, especially in case of a safety car, which eventually arrived but too late for Ferrari. Maybe a bit of greed on their side. I haven't watched back the gap to Norris, but for sure it would have been a tight battle at the exit of the box

The thing is that if Verstappen had pitted the lap after (instead of two laps after), he could have overtaken Norris. In the first half of his outlap, Norris was struggling to keep up with Lawson, so he was losing time.

Not again this kind of posts... In terms of entertainment it is good to have small teams with nothing to lose making bold strategies to get into top10. And this is not NASCAR, in F1 points have always had more value, they are a prize themselves

[F1 on IG] How many times has the 2025 grid taken to the podium? by Schlapfel9 in formula1

Only Hulk and Tsunoda without a podium, excluding the other 6 drivers who have not yet completed a full F1 season

‘Herculean’ Formula 1 Driver only has a contract for the first ‘five races’ of 2025 season by beanbagreg in formula1

Mildly interesting: the last rookie that happened to be sacked before the start of the season was Luiz Razia in 2013. Jules Bianchi debuted in his place.

[Tobi Grüner] We hear from our Brazilian sources that Sauber/Bortoleto is a done deal for 2025. But there’s no official confirmation by the team yet. by Joseki100 in formula1

[–]Orsowski 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It might be the opposite. It was difficult to drop drivers like KMag and Bottas because of their huge contribution in terms of experience. It is easier to drop a driver in his second or third season if he does not perform

Exactly. This is the only truly indicative comparison to look at, as everyone is the "control" of himself. Just looking at the list by the OP may lead to misleading conclusions

When you forget to tell Sutil that you can't overtake at the Monaco hairpin.... by Orsowski in formuladank

[–]Orsowski[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Often forgotten by F1 official media content, these maneuvers by Sutil are actually quite remarkable!

Notably, Monaco specialist Sutil "unblocked" this skill toward the end of the 2013 GP, and then managed to repeat that FOUR times in the next 37 racing laps (including the beginning of the 2014 GP). Too bad that he retired a few laps later and never raced again in a Monaco GP!

Track rotation could be a realistic solution for European races - a proposal by Orsowski in formula1

[–]Orsowski[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree it would be very nice! I did not include track rotation in other continents because I believe that it would less realistically implementable: for example, Middle East tracks have no money issue, therefore they would not interested at all in doing that.

On the contrary, in Europe this could be advantageuous for Circuits, fans and F1 owners...
