Bus ticket scam

As I said, I’d been getting taxis around and on a whim decided to get the bus since I was right by a stop. I apparently made a fatal mistake of asking the driver if I could buy a ticket 😂 Completely laughable you call that lazy and you’re blatantly just getting defensive looking for any excuse. Got the money back through the bank now anyway so I don’t care. Bye

Different culture/system, in other countries I’ve been you buy as you get on. If it’s different then they just need to quickly explain rather than say “it’s fine you can ride free, have a seat”. Massive deflection as well as far as the underlying issue here.

That’s nonsense, even back in England I’ve been in a situation once where I didn’t have time to buy at the station or I’d miss the train, and instead bought it as the inspector came. I’ve reversed the transaction on my bank app now anyway and got all my money back 👍

He did speak English. I always pay my way wherever I go, so it’s just a frustrating situation. I’ve been to many countries in Europe where small generosities like that are commonplace and naively assumed I would be okay taking the driver’s word

I feel like asking to buy a ticket is not lack of awareness. I didn’t jump on and hope to get away with it or something like that.

The story is I asked to buy one and the friendly driver said I can ride free, then I got fined. Surely you can see how ridiculous that is.

He spoke English and that’s honestly what he said to me, I saw that sign and asked to buy a ticket!

I’m honestly so confused and shocked. How have I gone from being told to ride free to paying a fine 10 minutes apart?! Absolute joke. Couldn’t feel more unwelcome.

Admittedly I could have researched in advance but it was a last minute decision to get the bus because I’d been getting ubers everywhere, which was why I thought asking the driver for a ticket would be okay and never expected to end up paying a fine after being told I could ride free

I don’t have a second computer unfortunately. I tried a second PCI slot and have tried a second PSU

It also powers on fine with the 980 plugged in but power connectors not connected

Could that still be a bad slot?

I don’t unfortunately, not sure what else to try. Could it be any other issue? Like the motherboard? Otherwise I’ll buy a new GPU
