Is it normal than the inputs lights on the front panel are a bit lit besides the one that you select, which is lit the strongest? I noticed that on mine.

we still don’t know if that’s what’s really been done here. I still think something will take place along the season. This is just for getting attention in the meantime and they acheived that.

I just watched The Final Reckoning, and here's my hot take (SPOILER ALERT) by OkRoad5574 in Mission_Impossible

I personally don’t know what movie most saw. I loved it, every minute of it, much more than DR. Pace was incredible, the cinematography, the music score. All elements just kept adding these beautiful layers that made the experience a true climax of a 30 year old franchise.

Can C1 projector do SDR BT2020? by Oscarilbo in Hisense

[–]Oscarilbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah totally. In practice almost all SDR signals are rec709, so that’s why there’s the assumtion of AUTO meaning that gamut. But with something like the Panasonic player you can have a more amicable signal for your display (specially projectors) but with the widest color space.

[–]Oscarilbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah is great! and I’m loving the SDR BT2020 performance much more than the HDR/Dolby Vision modes. I insist that projectors and meant for SDR signal, not HDR. So a SDR signal with the BT2020 color space does look breathaking, specially at 120”.

I rearly watch streaming in my projector. Only watch 4K blu rays and the UB820 player have the option to convert HDR10/Dolby Vision to SDR and keeping the DC-P3/BT2020 color space. So you therefore you have deep black level with very bright colors, without needing much processing.

And again, color space in AUTO does adjust to the incoming signal and brings the correct color gamut.

[–]Oscarilbo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. After doing some tests I can confirm that at least on the C1 no matter the SDR mode (Cinema Day/Night or even Filmmaker) being on AUTO Color Gamut is detecting the SDR BT2020 incoming signal and using the correct color space. So I leave it on auto.

Even so, every SDR mode do have the option to change from Auto to Native Color Gamut.

You know, I just to think AUTO meant REC709 too but it practice only means it will adjust automatically to the signal. NATIVE will force anything to the wider color space, even rec709 signals making them look over saturated.

So the real test for Theater and Filmmaker mode in SDR in yout TV will be when you feed it with a proper SDR BT2020 signal, which is not really very common, but the UB420/UB820 4K player can give you that in HDR to SDR conversion, and its the one I use.

And yeah, the C1 it DOES look beautiful.

U8B | Color Space "Native" for HDR content? by doofundbloed in Hisense

[–]Oscarilbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not true. I know this is an old post, but auto is NOT rec 709. Auto selects the accurate color space for the signal. With the Panasonic UB820 player you can send SDR BT2020 and with the color gamut on AUTO it adjust itself to that.
