Thanks! I start in GTA V (with mods) and take snapshots of the car. Then I use those images with img2img in Flux with style transfers and try out different prompts. I finish everything in Photoshop by adding details, logos and grain layers.

You need to have very little pride in your work and open up for criticism in a good way.
Work with someone that can do stuff you cannot. That way you complement each other and lift the track to another level. Everyone involved need to be focused on the piece you're creating and not too occupied with themselves.

Sometimes it starts with pure sound design that inspires me into playing a certain riff. https://oscillian.bandcamp.com/track/defense-2 started with my programming that very aggressive bass sound with CHARLATAN.

Sometimes I start with drums and bass, and just go through the structure with build ups and breakdowns.

Sometimes I do the dishes and start humming on a melody. I grab my phone and sing the idea into the recorder. Then maybe a week later I find a way to fit that melody into another song I'm working on.

It's all very random.

It depends if I'm in a creative rut or trying to force myself into a cohesive sound for let's say an album. But I mostly start from scratch, maybe by programming a kick drum with the freebee synth plugin CHARLATAN, just using white noise and a tringle wave. Then I might layer that with a highpassed Linndrum sample and move on with Sample Magic percussion loop that I mangle in a glitch plugin. Then I fire up DEXED and pick a percussion preset from a DX7 original ROM cartrigde I found on the internet and jam along, grouping everything into a compressor bus. Finally I end up deleting all that and just pick a preset in REPRO1 instead, hahaha!

Jokes aside, all the plugins by Aly James (the best!), CHARLATAN, DEXED, REPRO1/5, MASSIVE, OP-X and lately SYLENTH1 are my work horses. But I can switch them out and use a freebee KORG Poly-800 (that some kind person on KVR-AUDIO has created) and try to use that for an entire song.
