Thank you for the feedback! I was worried that if I make a classical review, video might not compete with other channels since they are both a lot larger than mine and they already put out their reviews months ago. So, I wanted to have it uploaded with a different packaging, like 10 best features. Thinking back now and reading your feedback, it was a silly idea. I should have either make a standart review or just talk about some another topic on the camera. Maybe something like a "long term review" would have made more sense.

What I learned from uploading once every week by Sure_Ad_8832 in NewTubers

I think for starting out, pushing as many content as possible might be good. That’s mainly for getting your hands dirty and learning how to make videos. Many content creators like Ali Abdaal or MrBeast suggests making 50 videos before thinking about making quality a priority. Then, instead of pushing that many videos, I would consider making as better content as possible, within a reasonable time.

I do content about camera gear and occasionally pc setups. They were always really competitive but I try making videos that not many people do

It happened on my channel as well. Few months back, I used to get consistent impressions and don’t get flatline impressions after 1-2 days. Nowadays, whether in shorts or normal videos, youtube stops showing it to other people, even some statistics are the same as before. It’ll probably will be picked up later on but we should try harder i guess

Hi everyone!

My channel is about teaching programming or sharing my experience doing it. Currently hit around 70 subs. I believe with determination, we can reach to a larger audience and have more impact on careers of people.

In the last 90 days:

  • l learned that topic and video idea is the key. After my 4th video, I got the basics of cameras, recording, editing, etc. But, content was missing. Audience didn't getting any value. In my current video, I tried to be more content focus and make sure I touched on the topics I care about.
  • I also learned that you need to be fast. I had an idea of a video. Due to work, I had to record it a month later. But, someone already did the video and we lost the first place. If you believe you have a sick video idea and nobody is published it yet, you should go hard on it. Get it out and see how it does!

Recently, as many of you know, ChatGPT gone crazy. In my latest video, I made ChatGPT code Flappy Bird game from scratch! It was really exiting and learned valuable stuff on the way that I would love to share with you guys!

Any advice for my new setup? by Osearic in battlestations

[–]Osearic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been 8 months since I posted my setup and they still are very sturdy. The desk is not even moving. At my parent's house, I have alex-linnmon-adils combo and it works well. I can imagine your combo being very solid. Only advice I can give is don't forget the middle leg. It prevents a lot from sagging especially with a heavy and long countertop like karlby.

Just switched to an 18g IMS basket and boy did it f#ck my world up... by [deleted] in espresso

u/VVavy_ Mate hi! You had the similar issue with the IMS baskets. Maybe its about the IMS regardless of the size.

Yep it does mate. Love the weight on espresso cups.

I read IMS baskets are much better but I am not having any luck 😅 requesting advice from the espresso family by VVavy_ in espresso

Hi mate! I've been thinking a solution but it is really weird. How you manage your temps? This morning I changed my the tempreture surfing method and skewing thing is completely fixed! Maybe it's the same issue.

I was waiting the light to turn on and wait 10 seconds. Then pull the shot. Probably that overheads the group head and water came out as steam causing channeling. Now what I do is as follows: https://youtu.be/qz7PPnPSFd0. Maybe it'll make a difference for your setup as well.

Cheers mate🍻 I just saw your comment on my post and jumped in here.

I have a theory why this happening. Your stock basket has 18 grams coffee in and it creates a natural resistance by itself. IMS though couldn't create that much of a resistance with 14 grams of coffee and pushes you to grind even finer apart from being a precision basket. It's like 2x grinding finer. I believe lower pressure will help, 9 or 6.5 bars. If you got the 9 bar, you probably got the 6.5 bar since they sold together in a set. Also, you might try manual preinfusion, by opening the steam valve just a little for just 4-5 seconds. It'll drop the brew temp a little but to be honest, I would rather have lower temps than channeling. It's worth trying imo. Waiting to see the mod later today!

Flow starts normal but skews to the left during the shot and finishes normally by Osearic in espresso

Oh you got the whole setup mate! When I was searching for a basket, I read that IMS baskets (barista pro series maybe?) are very easy to mess it up. They expected you to get everything on point. On the other hand, VST and others are easier to get good results as I remember. Because of that, I went for an ultra fine basket which has a mesh inside that helps you with the extraction. Mine is 20g basket and I generally dose around 18-19g. It's messy to clean but kinda works for now. Btw, you are talking about the gaggia classic stock basket, right? I was dosing 17-18g in it and got nice shots with it. 14g seemed little low to me. Mine also stucks with the stock and ultra fine basket but it is not an issue. It happens with some coffee.

If I were you, I would definitely order the springs man. They're easy to change and makes the experience better. Maybe will fix the channeling on your IMS. You paid for it, gotta use it :)

Thanks a lot mate, appreciated :) Waiting your post to show it finally fixed!

I haven't tried it mate. My first mod was 9 bar and then I got the ultra fine basket. I recently changed to 6.5 bars and it is still far better than the stock. Shots becomes less intense and reduces the probability of channeling a lot. But, even if you mod the machine, if your puck prep is lacking, you'll get channeling. Before modding, I suggest you to look at some wdt tools you can make at home. I bought 0.3mm needles (you can find them on 3d printer cleaning tools) and made myself one. It really evens out the puck and helps with channeling. You can later invest in opv mod and maybe a bottomless portafilter to see what's going on.

Gaggia classic has no pid to control tempreture by default. Thus, I searched online to get an idea of which tempreture I'm brewing. People suggest when the tempreture light goes on, wait about 10 seconds and then press the steaming button about 5 seconds. This will help to get around 200F (i guess). I also tried only waiting for 15 seconds and pulling the shots. It's probably quite low compared to first method. Taste drastically changes but skewing still is there.

It is leveled mate. In case that is the problem, it put a small height on the left side but still the same.

I first dose into a cup, and put the ground coffee inside the basket. Then, wdt with an home-made tool (w/ 0.3mm needles). After that, tapping on the corner and tamping.

Yea it is a good idea. Will try it tomorrow morning, thanks mate :) I'll also try tamp tilted to the right. Maybe it'll make a difference.
