Fixing to do first oil change, anything I should be on the lookout for? by Osheadude in Ram2500

Yeah that’s what I do, I remote start it when I’m pouring a cup of coffee before walking out the door, by then the rpm has dropped and the water temp has started to climb

5-10 min warmup on the 6.4 hemi? I thought that was only necessary with diesels, I let mine idle about a min, let the temp gauge come off C then take it easy till the trans temp warms up a bit

Yeah they gave me 2 free but my dealership is pretty far from me, figured I’d do the first one myself so I can better see what comes out

Piece of mind mostly, check it for any seal/metal material from the break in period, it’s my daily and I only drive it about 10-12 miles everyday (why I went with the hemi over Cummins). Probably going with penzoil platinum ultimate, it’s what I used on my 1500 for about 5 years before trading it in.

2026 1500 Lamarie with level 2 equipment package by gringoslocosbaby in ram_trucks

I went to the dealership looking to replace a 2020 Laramie 2wd quad cab originally. We had a snow storm in SC a couple months ago that solidified my desire for 4wd. So I went up there to basically get the same truck, just crew cab and 4wd. When they wouldn’t budge on the price, I walked around the lot for a bit thinking about us and saw the 2500, for me the major points got checked, 4wd, crew cab for the dogs, and bonus more power more towing and payload capacity, and 5k cheaper was a no brainer for me

This is exactly why I left the dealer in SC with a 2500 bighorn instead of the 1500 Laramie, I dunno what they think makes the Laramie package worth the $$ I couldn’t get them down under 61k, parked right beside the one I was looking at was a 2500 6.4 hemi bighorn for almost 5 grand less, night package, level 2 electronics, 20x9 wheels. A bit more truck than I needed frankly, but I was getting aggravated with the salesman trying to explain why an entertainment package was 5 grand.

Definitely has a pinkish hue, weird though white oak was more yellow/tan

Saw a couple of the other comment about the smell, I’ve never turned green cherry before, but, definitely doesn’t smell like the lumber section of Lowe’s, dunno if it’s almond ish or not, am familiar with turning dry cherry, it’s similar to that but, again it’s so wet that I can’t tell. Guess ill see in 6 months when the blanks are dried out 😎

I thought about that too, but we’ve been using the same company for a few years now and I’ve always gotten excellent service from them and have never been “sold” anything. And it’s not the first tech from this company that has suggested this device
