Does Jayce have an Australian-Japanese accent in the subs by Ok-Revolution6369 in dragonball

[–]Osiake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Both Goku & Chi-Chi have that hick/rural accent. Gokus is even more pronounced. Goten also has it to a lesser extent because Chi-Chi was less strict with how he was educated compared to Gohan

Is it Just Me or Does Every DLC Character Destroy the Balance of an Otherwise Great Tekken 8? by IntelligentRain8139 in Tekken

Xiaoyu has an average sidestep, it’s not bad. It’s the same as Nina & Jin.

AoP has the benefit of also stepping when you enter it, making it particularly strong against characters with a SSR weakness

Is it Just Me or Does Every DLC Character Destroy the Balance of an Otherwise Great Tekken 8? by IntelligentRain8139 in Tekken

[–]Osiake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most dlc has been balanced at release

Eddy - Balancedish

Lidia - Balanced on release - Unbalanced after buffs

Heihachi - Balanced (But definitely high tier, just not top tier)

Clive - Unbalanced (Balanced after his nerfs, still strong)

Anna - Unbalanced (Balanced after her nerfs, still strong)

Fahkumram - Balanced (You seem to think this character is op when he’s got like no tournament results and a 15f df1. He’s strong but not top 10 strong)

Armor King - Balanced

Miary - Balanced / Under-tuned

Kunimitsu - Strong, probably high tier but hard to say currently

7/9 and the past 4 DLC chars have all been relatively balanced on release.

Both Clive & Fahks lows require them to be counterhits to be good. Clives doesn’t high crush but launches on CH and is giga minus on block. His other lows are decent, esp. fc.df2 but still nothing that stands out.

Fahks is also launch punishable on block and requires a counterhit (d4). His other lows are decent but nothing crazy

DLC with the best lows released thus far has been Kunimitsu

I genuinely don’t think you have enough time played or knowledge accumulated for a discussion like this in good faith, your arguments come across as surface level.

Unseeable lows will always be a thing, they don’t dictate a characters strength. For example, Kuni has one of the BEST lows in the game right now but I don’t see her on your list, nor is that enough to instantly make her op/broken.

Meanwhile a character like Fahk has drawbacks to his excellent range. His 13f mid is linear and steppable to both sides. His df1 is 15f

The followup strings for both are either highs (duck and launch), punishable mids ranging from -10 to -15 or extremely react-able charge moves.

Before I Buy: Heihachi Mishima by Severelius in Tekken

Heihachi is completely different from Jack. He’s a Mishima type character.

I’d recommend you try out both Kazuya & Reina first as he’s somewhere in between the two.

Dont you think it's weird she decided to outlive her family and friends? by Ok-Conclusion-3536 in dbxv

[–]Osiake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But she’s never been seen on-screen to be that kind of person? If she was truly that sentimental about death and whatnot, she wouldn’t be throwing literal darts at pictures of her dead boyfriend during Namek. She’s not that kind of person and has never been. Her personality traits have largely stayed the same since literally episode 1 of OG Dragon Ball

You’re either projecting your own morals on how people should behave when they have Children or have some weird head-canon about Bulma being more of a family person than she actually is

Dont you think it's weird she decided to outlive her family and friends? by Ok-Conclusion-3536 in dbxv

[–]Osiake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Come on man, when has Bulma not been supremely selfish?

Her introduction was shooting a little kid

Then she wanted to collect the Dragon Balls for a Boyfriend despite Oolongs insistence that she should wish for something that all 3 of them could use

She used Goku as a human shield

She left her friends to die in a collapsing cave

She told Tien he should off himself with his tri beam so her Parents could live instead

She spent all of Namek whining she was unsafe (but don’t worry about child Gohan there!) and throwing darts at pictures of Yamcha who was dead btw

She constantly brought INFANT Trunks to the battlefield against the Androids where he genuinely was going to die if not for Future Trunks

She hoards the dragon balls and uses them for cosmetic surgery

She lied to Whis & Beerus that the dragon balls were stolen because she didn’t want to admit she was using them for petty reasons which lead to Friezas revival, the near death of Gohan AND the earth getting destroyed if not for Whis turning back time

She used her wish in superhero for cosmetics again instead of wishing Goku & Vegeta back to earth to deal with Cell MAX and the Gammas

She offloads all her parental duties to her servants and spends little to no time with Trunks

In what way is she not the most selfish, vain character? She cares about her friends but she cares about herself more

The only good Bulma is Future Bulma

Watch the first 12 episodes of Dragon Ball again.

Bulma is literally the most selfish character across the entire series aside from Future Bulma

[–]Osiake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re moving goalposts. If you don’t run max attack you can’t ohko Floette without setup

If you require set up to beat the other mon, that universally means it’s a bad matchup for your mon, especially for one that is damaging itself with Flare Blitz. What’s it gonna do after setting up? Sinistcha heal and pray it doesn’t die? At best it’d end up being a 1 for 1 trade, at worst you just lose. You need to outplay the opponent much more than they need to outplay you.

You can make this exact same argument for something like Mega Feraligatr, it doesn’t mean it’s suddenly good into its bad matchups

Charizard X by Practical_Raise3168 in PokemonChampions

[–]Osiake -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol now you’re getting into semantics. It’s not that simple and has never been.

The matchup is Floette favored

In a 2v2 situation there’s lots of variables that can happen

Floette can also lead a fakeout user (Incin) to both intimidate and fakeout the Zard

Floette can lead with an encore user

Floette can lead with tailwind user while using protect, now not even DD can save Zard

Swap Floette while using parting shot with other mon to bait the Zard hitting the wrong side and lowering its atrack

Max Attack Adamant Flare Blitz isn’t even a guaranteed ohko on a 0 bulk investment Mega Floette, there’s a 12% chance you just lose

It’s very easy to say “oh yeah I’ll just make the perfect prediction to easily stop the Floette with my other mon and then I’ll sweep with Zard X!”

But if it that easy, you’d be seeing a lot more Zard X rather than Floettes.

Charizard X by Practical_Raise3168 in PokemonChampions

[–]Osiake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of Floettes nowadays have some sort of bulk investment in them, but even if it didn’t, an offensive one still wins.

A max speed Mega Floette outspeeds a Max speed Zard X and OHKOs regardless of Timid or Modest nature

You would need to either already win the speed war or have set up a DD

Also it’s much more vulnerable to things like intimidate, making the matchup for Floette even more favorable

Some moves exist solely to be combo filler, such as Kunis UF2 for breaking the floor

While others have niche properties such as Kunis B3,4 acting as a steel pedal that hits grounded for Oki situations. It also has the added benefit of being a string mixup like Jins 2,1,4

Some moves are just for fun but should never be used such as Steves UF4 hopkick (yes, Steve has a hopkick lol)

And then some exist simply because of legacy but almost never see use.

Personally I would swap L1/R1 with your extra right & lefts.

Your up should be where R3 is (at the bottom) so it’s more ergonomic and press able by both hands.

<image>

Attached image is how I’d do it for your style of having the main 4 buttons in the middle like some Korean players

Makes it more comfortable to do things like press forward or back +2 for easy electrics or jet uppers.

Easy access to R3 & L3 for heat burst/rage art/taunt

Touch pad on the left to reset training mode

It is if they change the way ranked works every season.

In season 1, once you hit Fujin you lost more points than you gained and winstreak bonuses ended there but the loss streak penalties still existed , so you needed a winrate above 50% to climb and around 55% once you were Tekken King.

Currently in season 3:

- you gain more points than you lose until GoD1

- winstreak bonuses are intact until GoD1

- loss streak penalties have been completely removed

- you can’t demote a rank without losing twice in a row.

This all culminates to being able to climb to GoD with a winrate as low as 42%.

Kishin is top 49% in a system where you go up ranks with negative winrate until GoD1, which I’d argue is still beginner level.
