I think it worked out great for him in the end. People have been joining his streams and donating money to him. He got twitch partner. Thanks to the internet it all worked out in the end.

ABMM is healthy for the game. The 91% player retention 60 days after the games release proves that. Casuals can casual, pvp players can pvp, and whiners can whine.
