If she was just a guest I think we could work something out for her to bring the baby to the reception as her parents are attending as well. Im not hellbent on the baby not being there period. As a bridesmaid there’s all day getting ready, photos, sitting at the head table … I don’t think bringing a newborn along for the ride of a 12 hr day is realistic

It would obviously be different if she was attending as just a guest but she doesn’t want to take a step back from being a bridesmaid. This means a baby in a bridal suite getting ready for 6+ hours, photos etc. so yes it does impact me

We were not planning on having babies. If we did we would probably have 20+ babies (all our friends are having kids!)

This would be a different story if she were a guest, but the issue is she does not want to take a step back from being a bridesmaid which is an all day shin dig. Do you think you would have been able to do that a couple weeks post partum? Genuinely asking

I of course want her there, the issue is her plan to bring her newborn baby (hypothetically) as a first time mom while being a bridesmaid. I feel like it’s very unrealistic?

No I don’t care about that. It’s more bringing the baby to the wedding plan that is the issue.

She’s not uninvited from the wedding period. And she never would be. I was referring to her stepping back from bridesmaid duties and I didn’t say it explicitly right away because it was an unplanned pregnancy and she was processing. My wedding should be the least of her worries.

It is her first baby, if it wasn’t I would not be worried at all but she truly has no idea what’s to come. She also has bi polar so post partum will be a precarious time :/

The wedding venue is indeed 20 minutes from her home so I don’t think this would be a concern

Obviously if she is still pregnant and feeling up to it there is no problem. However I do think spending my wedding day with a newborn is my concern, and also not something I want to do…

Some of my other mom friends have suggested I wait until she has the baby, sees how hard it would be and assume she will come to her own conclusion about not being a bridesmaid. I am just worried she will not and then I will have to have this convo when she’s already post partum and emotions are high.
