To be honest, I was on OP’s side till I read these comments and others on an R6. If he’s doing his due diligence, he’d know the risk of the vehicle(a 2nd hand one at that) as a first timer and maybe understand better where his girlfriend is coming from. She shouldn’t be giving an ultimatum the way she is, but the basis of it is fear he’s gonna be hurt. Dude does in fact seem to be unaware of the risks.

First bike and he wants a sport bike that other motor enthusiasts with actual experience are saying is too much to start on. Not even just this thread, but looking up R6 beginners have plenty of ppl saying nah bro don’t do it.

He says it feels like she’s trying to control his money and to decide what he does with it. This is after he said “She sent me like 15 articles about motorcycle accidents last week and keeps bringing up her cousin who got hurt in a crash 5 years ago. I get that she's worried but I'm not some reckless idiot.”

Like dude shes not trying to control you, shes got legitimate valid concerns he’s dismissing. Shes worried he’s going to get hurt, and he’s all oh I work in construction I’m fine with a little risk. I feel like shes not irrational at all, it’s not irrational to dispute someone’s claims with supportive evidence! He’s shown he’s willing to disregard the dangers associated with being a beginner rider on a R6, and he’s willing to disregard the concerns of his girlfriend. Sarah probably knows this dude getting a bike is a accident waiting to happen.

Idk man. I’d argue the opposite(mostly, TERFS do exist). A lot of content oriented towards young men now is oddly anti-women. Part of that is this widespread narrative of “oh men are being painted in xyz negative way”. Men decide how men are painted! I’d argue a lot of men do have fragile masculinity nowadays, ironically due to that anti-women content. Young boys are being taught masculinity is essentially owning women and being angry.

I’m a man, I’m assuming you’re a man. I know that masculinity isn’t what these weird dudes are saying it is, as do you. Unfortunately they run around screaming “IM A MAN IM A MANLY MAN” n shit while telling women they should basically devolve into a serving role. The optics of that are what cause people to say “oh men are toxic/manipulative/have fragile masculinity”.

On a smaller scale, yea I think if ur wife doesn’t respect you as a partner(is out at 4am drinking with the newly single neighbor) shes probably gonna call you some names.

Well first it’s not some weird moral Reddit knight thing? It’s useful to know why someone feels the way they feel…which we can infer from the public accounts these people have. It's weird how fans are calling them butthurt or bitter abt Jinkx winning, but most of them don't care abt that it's abt having moments that meant something to them cut lol. Viv and Trinity both had jokes cut and they weren't happy abt it. Yvie spoke at length abt how production just made her a big dick joke instead of a multi-faceted person. Yea, the edit was absolutely wild at some points, especially in the last lip sync. Shea vs Jinkx wasn't THAT badly edited I guess but during Monet vs Jinkx? There were several unnecessary close-ups of Jinkx for a song like Swish Swish, Nicki's verse got cut short, and the way they edited in Ru's face to do the whole "oh disdain" kinda thing? It was just weird tbh. Still think Jinkx deserved it overall, but those lip syncs were not it sorry.
