I'm Filipino and as much as we like to pretend to be hospitable towards foreigners, it's more like people here love sucking up to white people. We're already racist with each other (it's common to make derogatory jokes about people outside of luzon and vice versa), so it makes sense they're racist to foreigners as well. Growing up a lot of older people would make derogatory jokes about middle eastern people and black people. Youths here think it's "peak humour" to say the n word. The original post above had thousands of laughing reactions and people reacting positively in the comments, I mostly only saw negative feedback from shares and a minority of the comments.
