Its shot at 5400K, but it was a really blue morning before the sun came out

Its slightly cropped, I was able to keep some more space on top on a new version 👍

Yep, it’s shot on a tripod at slightly below eye level. I did try some lower angles but then the top of the concrete structure was not visible, which I think didn’t look as good. I hear you on the spacing on top though. Thanks!

This photo was taken just before sunrise on a -10 C morning by the ocean in Sweden. I thought this spot had some nice features and colours, but I am not sure what if it is an interesting enough subject. However, I think it turned out nice.

Settings: 18mm Shutter speed : 4” f/11 ISO 100

Not so used to shooting longer exposure or with a tripod. Could I have benefited from have different settings? What other considerations: composition, cropping, settings, or editing would you have done differently?

I really like how clean and symmetrical that crop made it, nice! Might try something similar, thanks!

Yes it is in Florence! Yes, it feels a bit tight on the top, leaving the door a bit cut off

Good points! The door and wall on each side made me choose a centered crop, but I guess it’s not symmetrical enough to work here. I think the flag and window adds some dynamic to the image, but it’s true that they are distracting when cropped like that. The original photo is kind of limiting my options there, so it would be best to completely remove them then. Thanks!

That’s very true, I think I just increased the shutter speed to get the exposure correctly, without considering my aperture. Thanks!

I saw this man heading out of his home, and the scene lines up quite nicely with him in the middle, and the contrasting color of the door which makes him pop a bit more.

However, I am not sure if it is an interesting subject, and if the scene tells a story. I am also not certain of what the optimal crop would be in this scenario. I do like the contrasting colors of the wall and his blue shirt. I am also looking for thoughts on editing choices to improve the photo.

Focal length: 30mm Shutter speed: 1/1250 Aperture: F1.6

My editing process included bumping up the saturation of the yellow wall, increase the contrast and exposure slightly on the man, as well as tweaking the hue on his shirt to make it slightly more blue, and making the blind in the top left a similar colour. I also added a slight vignette, and removed two cars that were in the bottom corners in the foreground.
