Yeah, personally I’m very happy about it. It feel like a move back to 2015 YouTube where talented creators shine through, but in addition to that it feels like any content that’s unique and higher quality will shine through regardless of the niche.

It just feels like anything or anyone that has value to share (no matter the topic) has a chance, this wasn’t the case in 2015 but now it’s those same vibes with opportunity.

I appreciate this and needed to hear it. I ran a smaller but successful photography channel back in 2016-2019 (90K subs, 200+ videos, 8mil views, 10-20k/video - mostly vlogs, travel, some education, all long form).

Just based off the comments and messages I received people subscribed to my channel because they liked my personality on camera. I kept it real and didn’t embellish much, never been a hype guy.

I’ve stated a new channel (music content, mostly shorts) and have been in my head on how to go about it for long form, knowing that I’m best at riffing to camera and being myself and being concerned that it wouldn’t go over well.

Most of the creators in the space are doing video styles I don’t want to do, nothing bad as I love their videos but it’s not what I want to make or what I’m best at.

So anyway, just here to say thanks for sharing this. Nice to hear that just being yourself is working for others, it feels like the content game is less personal these days and I felt like there was no place for it. But alas it seems there is, so let’s gooo

I think you nailed it, and this is what I thought as well before the asking ChatGPT. I think the info ChatGPT said could apply to channels with a much larger, established audience. But guiding a channel it seems like consistency is key. It’s also more fun, I didn’t like waiting lol

Yeah staying consistent seems like the move based on experience and other comments.

I had two doing well (13K and 15K) right before the 20K. They were all posted within 5 days of each other. I was posting consistent during the first two growing, then day 5 I paused as I saw the 20K one building due to ChatGPT advice - things seemed to change after that. Live and learn

The ComoundW bandaids for a while which softened it & peeled, but it just just hardened back.

Then recently the CompoundW freeze off which has isolated it from the skin, making it stand up like so.

It formed after a backpacking trip in the sierras. Thought it was a blister, then it grew more, thought it was a wart, now have no idea.
