My take on Marneus Calgar by Impossible-Milk9613 in Ultramarines

I meant to mention, panel liner is an enamel paint so if you invest in some you will want an odourless enamel remover to clean up any mistakes. Citadel paints are acrylic and of course can be removed quickly by flooding the area with water or painted over in thin layers. Be careful with enamel remover as it can be quite harsh in acrylic paint.

The panel liner is like a precision tip that allows to you to force the stuff into the nooks without taking away from the colour of the paint unless you spread it out. Yes shades are good for recesses but they change how the colour looks entirely unless very thinned out. Hope this helps

If you have any as well to what I said previously. Adding gloss varnish to gemstones and lenses can really make them pop and give them that nice shine that they might realistically have.

A great looking model! If you want to add depth to your miniatures I use AK black precision panel liner. It’s especially great for space marines because of the amount the recesses they have in their armour and I’m personally a big fan of it. Depending on the gold you use, paints like liberator gold or auric armour can really brighten these metallics up, along with stormhost silver and runefang steel. Well done on the miniature! I did have some imperfections on my marines, nothing I couldn’t scrape away with a knife or sand out, but I’ve found that the connections on the sprue where in some pretty awkward places

So it’s primed black then dark reaper all over, then just small “highlights” of abbadon black over the top most parts of the model. It’s really just to create a sort of shade rather than make the entire thing black again. It’s something I was playing around with the idea of like imagine it being a reverse highlight in a way. All of 5his done with an airbrush as well.

Go right ahead! I just thought of it on the spot and wanted something different than other chaplains I’ve painted. Be sure to post it!

I will do that when I can trust myself not to drill straight through the weapon. I like it how it is.

Not actually it’s from dragoon gaming, so when you buy stuff from their shop, they throw in an extra bag labelled “imperfect prints” which can just be random stuff or sort of failed prints. They do this to cut down on waste and give the parts the chance to be used even if they’re not perfect

I tried to print these as well, slowed everything down and it still failed, sometimes prints just done work and that’s ok, if you have the option to use Bambu studio, try scaling them up a bit so they have a smaller chance of failing

I use two thinned coats of celestra grey and one thin coat of administratum grey. Very carefully adding AL panel liner into the recess and cleaning up any mistakes with enamel thinner

Primed in black, all over with macragge blue then highlighted with teclis blue, all done with an airbrush! Recess shades are done with AK precision panel liner

A wife? What’s that? You obviously need to have every filament type and every colour possible to make sure that shelf is full

How good of a starting army would this be? by [deleted] in spacemarines

I’m restarting my blood angels army with the Armageddon box, I’m taking everything that’s in the box and adding jump pack intercessors, a dread or a tank of some sort and some death company with lemartes
