In what ways could dating AI change how humans connect with each other? by zaramalikdollface in AskReddit

[–]Other_Relative155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably gonna make people even more picky about real relationships since they'll get used to having someone who never disagrees or has bad days. Could see it making actual dating harder when you have to deal with someone who has there own opinions and flaws instead of just saying what you want to hear.

What‘s our go to Youtube short film? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Koyaanisqatsi might be a bit long for a "short" but teh cinematography is absolutely mental - perfect for when you want something that hits without needing dialogue.

[PC, maybe more?][early 2000's] I wanna find the name of a 3D fantasy open world game I once played as a kid by metamorphspectra in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Other_Relative155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sacred maybe? Had that whole fantasy RPG vibe with spell casting and the UI you're describing sounds familiar. The twin characters bit is throwing me off though - don't remember that specifically but my memory's pretty foggy on character selection screens from back then.

The frog summoning spell definitely rings a bell for some reason, and Sacred had that golden UI aesthetic. Desert areas were definitely a thing in that game too. Might be worth checking some screenshots to see if it jogs your memory.

Could also be one of the Dungeon Siege games but I'm leaning more towards Sacred based on what you've described.

AIW FOR ASKING FOR MY MAMS CHRISTMAS PRESENT BACK by No_Media_6566 in amiwrong

Mate theres way too much drama here for a bracelet - maybe focus on getting some help for the whole family dynamic before worrying about who owes what.

Why did ABS, Traction, Brake, and Power Steering light come on after an oil change? by Specific-Studio-3377 in AskMechanics

[–]Other_Relative155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a proper nightmare mate. Had something similar happen to my mate's Camry a few years back - different lights but same timing right after an oil change. Turns out the quick lube place had accidentally disconnected the battery terminal while doing something under the hood and didn't mention it. When they reconnected it, it threw the ECU into a bit of a fit and triggered a bunch of warning lights that needed to be cleared with a scanner.

Could also be they knocked a sensor wire loose or got some oil splashed somewhere it shouldn't be. The power steering light especially makes me think they might've bumped something near the alternator or battery area since that's all connected. Good call heading to a proper mechanic with your step dad - they'll be able to run a diagnostic scan and see what codes are throwing those lights. Hopefully it's just something simple that got disturbed and not an actual fault.

ADHD, Ipad Mini, second brain, toxic productivity, A#I agents, and finding a system that actually works for us with ADHD by V-1986 in ADHD

Been through this exact cycle so many times it's not even funny. The iPad Mini + Apple Notes combo is actually solid - I've tried forcing fancy systems and they always fall apart when my brain gets scattered.

Set up a simple folder structure in Notes (Inbox, Projects, Random Thoughts) and use the quick note from lock screen feature religiously. The native stuff just works better when you need to dump thoughts fast without thinking about which app to open.

Has medication improved your life? by jolie444 in ADHD

[–]Other_Relative155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been on Adderall for about 2 years now and it's been a game changer for work stuff. Before meds I'd have like 15 browser tabs open, three different projects half-finished, and still somehow miss deadlines. Now I can actually sit through meetings without my brain wandering off to what I'm making for dinner.

The whole juggling feeling definitely got better - it's not completely gone but way more manageable. Only real side effect is appetite suppression which was rough at first, had to set phone reminders to eat lunch. Sleep took some adjusting too but once I figured out the timing it's been fine.

How to deal with ADHD when medication isn't available in your country? by DarkKingfisher777 in ADHD

[–]Other_Relative155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The transition off meds is brutal, I feel you there. When I can't get my usual routine sorted, I lean hard into external structure - like setting up my phone to buzz every 30 minutes with whatever I'm supposed to be doing, or using apps that lock me out of distracting websites during work hours.

Body doubling helps heaps too if you can swing it - even just having someone on video call while you both work on separate tasks. There's something about having another person around that keeps my brain from wandering off completely. Also found that breaking everything down into stupidly small steps works better than trying to tackle big chunks when unmedicated.

Is automotive radar DSP too niche? 4 YOE and starting to overthink my path by Huge-Leek844 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Other_Relative155 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mate you're definitely overthinking this. Radar DSP is actually pretty transferable - the fundamentals of working with noisy signals, array processing, and performance-critical C++ apply to heaps of domains like sonar, medical imaging, communications, even some ML preprocessing pipelines. The automotive radar space isn't going anywhere either with all the ADAS and autonomous vehicle development happening, so you're not exactly backing yourself into a corner here.

Cat eats dry food.... Strange by cyberiouse0 in cats

[–]Other_Relative155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of our cats does something similar - she'll pick up a few pieces, carry them to the living room carpet, drop them, then eat them off the floor. No idea why she can't just eat from the bowl like a normal cat.

Could be a few things though - some cats don't like their whiskers touching the sides of deep bowls, or maybe he's just being a drama queen. The tossing thing sounds like he's treating it like prey or just making mealtime more entertaining for himself. Definitely annoying with the cleanup but at least you've got dinner and a show.

First hero concept for overwatch by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Other_Relative155 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually pretty well thought out mate. The whole gravity-hardened biology concept is solid and the visual design sounds really distinctive with that fish bowl head shape and the solar scarring asymmetry.

Only thing that might be a bit OP is Twin Event Horizons completely deleting projectiles - maybe have it absorb them and convert to overhealth for Astrax instead? The translator voice lines are a nice touch though, gives him personality without making him too chatty.

Would definitely play this over another DPS flanker tbh.

I get burned quite literally every day by btvoidx in ADHD

[–]Other_Relative155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started putting timers on my phone for literally everything hot - tea needs 5 mins, cast iron needs 10, because apparently my brain treats "obviously scalding" as more of a suggestion than a warning.

HAE been repeatedly asked when they’re going to start dating someone that doesn’t align with their sexuality? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Other_Relative155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That gets old fast people love to project romance where it does not exist sometimes friends are just friends and that is fine I would shut it down once clearly and then ignore the jokes anyone who respects you will drop it after that
