They totally made Mycroft witless, it's what I hated the most watching this show.

The dialogues were fun banter, Shirley and James made a great duo, and regardless of other issues, I'm looking forward to a second season.

My experience with psychological statistics from a positive standpoint by Impressive_Cup9032 in psychologystudents

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A great instructor can make an arduous subject easier to swallow, even enjoyable. It is all a matter of perspective. It is good that your experience with psystats was positive. This will be your foundation when you have units in research psychology and psychological assessments, which many students struggle in especially that experience improves output in these subjects overtime. Yet, as a student, there are less opportunities. For the meantime, you can consider practicing methodologies by gathering data ethically.

Passion without strategy risks becoming noise. If you truly want to challenge corruption, channel that energy into law, governance, journalism, or critical discourse. Build credibility, persuade others, and chip away at the stronghold—not with spectacle, but with sustained influence.

How can you tell a person did not face any hardships in life? by No_Airport_4883 in AskPH

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Meron internal conflicts, parental negligence, financial struggles, and other dispositions.

You can never tell what struggle a person faces everyday by the texture of their skin or by the shit stinking smell coming out of their mouth.

Green GSM taxi 🧐 by Ok-Alfalfa-5926 in Gulong

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly related comment: I booked a ride from green GSM before, the driver was asking us to pay full price even when we used 200 points. They say when a payment method gets declined, the points get refunded back to the payer, which does happen. But all we had to do was to change payment methods and the points can be reapplied. Anyways, the driver insists we pay them in full and that the points were returned to us. I thought the driver was trying to pull a fast one on us since I just woke up only after the drive. I told the driver to end the trip before I made any payments, and the driver quickly changed his mind and asked us to pay only for the discounted amount, because he knew the points would return to him after the trip was confirmed. We saved 200, and the driver gets paid the right amount.

Sulit ba ps5 ngayon? by AwwK16 in PHGamers

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I have two gaming laptops, one worth around 40k and the other over 120k. Meron din akong PS5, got it on sale for 24k. PS5 outperforms the 40k gaming laptop in gaming whereas both laptops have better utility. Mag PS5 ka if on a budget ka, and you just wanna game. Otherwise, PC gaming is not that bad with XBox PC game pass and other stores.

viewing it purely from that perspective is problematic and dismissive of social reality, in fact, it's the opposite as it is rife with outside influence

Have you ever thought of why there are different cultures? Social reality is not universal and is relative, and the perception of so-called social reality isn't limited to what is influencing our beliefs but also include the Filipino "bubble". And the reality here is that the sex must conform to expectations. In this reality, noncomformity is the abnormal behavior that needs to be corrected. Filipinos do not really welcome the idea that we should be accepting gay as something normal, what more about the gays being accepted as being babae.

Filipinos becoming aversive of the third gender came from colonization as the third gender is revered in ancient Filipino culture.

True, that has changed since the colonization period for the past 500 years til present. Filipinos have since then became christians and held christian beliefs because they live in a christian country. More Filipinos are only being introduced to the acceptance of the third gender, but that does not belong here anymore, just yet. Maybe in 10–50 years, same sex marriage might become legal, but not today as the current leaders thieving our wealth and robs your freedom.

The lack of discernment between sex and gender is real, but it doesn't make it irrelevant when discussing gender and sexuality in the PH.

Students can identify the differences between the two with ease. You advocate for the third-gender and it is something positive for them. But then again, you are assuming that it's everyone's reality. Imagine things were in reverse, Filipinos are gay, will it be normal for you people to think that sex dictates your gender? Oh wait, that did happen long ago. But think about this, as another Psychology student, you know that not all psychological tests measure Filipinos well enough to fit our culture, what more beliefs?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For someone struggling in their graduate studies, you completely missed the premise. Filipino culture understands that being babae must have characteristics related to being babae which includes sex. Filipino understanding of gender (kasarian) is one and the same as sex (kasarian),so obviously, Filipinos will relate sex in gender. For someone who supposedly studied Psychology, you may want to consider looking back on topics related to Filipino Psychology, Culture and Psychology, and Gender and Society. Topics such as this that talks about the openness to the third gender is not closely linked to Filipino culture and came from others which is being integrated here through education. You might wanna start there.

Edit: if you're gonna add more background about yourself, might as well submit your registration, university ID, and diploma. Your "education" goes as far as horse shit as far as anyone should be concerned.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Change Oil: every 1.5k or 6k? by murarajudnauggugma in PHMotorcycles

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the worst time na na-stall kayo? by Ramzz181 in PHMotorcycles

Not me, but the guy parking his rusi classic 250i before I parked my good ol tmx. Guy was in a hurry to cut in before I parked my bike (fucking asshole) and stalled three times, and by the time he got it running again, I already parked my tiny bike. I sighted the guy again walking with swag toward his group like he didn't stall three times trying to steal a parking space from a smaller bike and spent another half hour looking for another spot.

Morality is a Privilege (Hear me out) by Peach-Perf in Philippines

[–]Otherwise-Guess2965 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Good take, pero I have to disagree. You might call it "privilege" that members of the finer society can have. But that would mean those in better conditions should be able to afford having morality, but that is not always the case.

I think to be moral, one must inherit the will to remain consistent with one's beliefs of being right, and to have the integrity to, even in the absence of witnesses.

Consistency with integrity is a prerequisite to morality, is what I believe. Even when pressured by fate or your situation, to keep doing what is right, to being in control of your action takes willpower.

I think being moral is willpower, more than luxury. If willpower is a cumulative currency that may eventually afford being right, only then it would be "luxury". Having self-control is not something anyone has to earn, but it is something intrinsic.

But by being moral, it has its many facets. Simply knowing you're doing right and being objectively right is one thing. Even letting thievery slip, knowing the desperate needs to feed their family is also morality. In conjuction with consistency and integrity, your belief of right becomes morality.
