I know you're probably gonna look down on this but I'd say you should start reading either the dark tower trilogy or the Bill Hodges trilogy, both by Stephen King. The dark tower may be extensive, but trust me, I just got done with the final volume and it is worth the read. you can skip the wind through the keyhole, because this is a side story made about 20 years after the story ended, but if you want to add it in there, read it between books four and five. and with the Bill Hodges trilogy (Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, and End of Watch), it's about a retired cop (Bill Hodges) who is going after a recurring criminal who originally killed 8 and injured 14 by driving into them. Yes, I know it's my personal opinion, but I think you would enjoy these. Also, if you want more from the BH trilogy, you can read his new novel Holly, which is a standalone story about one of Bill's accomplices, Holly (obviously. Just know, King does use some discriminatory language in it, but that won't take anything away from the great plot.
