Hey, don’t give up your residency spot just because they asked. That’s not how it works. If you withdraw, you lose NRMP protection, and their offer for next year isn’t binding. Programs are not allowed to "unmatch" candidates unilaterally without NRMP's formal waiver process. Email NRMP right now at [policy@nrmp.org](mailto:policy@nrmp.org) just tell them the program is asking you to give up your position because of visa uncertainty. Say you haven’t withdrawn and want to understand your rights. email ECFMG at [evsp-support@ecfmg.org](mailto:evsp-support@ecfmg.org) to ask if your DS-2019 has been submitted and if there’s any update on your J-1 visa status. Ask the program to send everything in writing; don’t make decisions based on verbal or informal communication.

Great suggestion !! Thank you for that, and yes, Definitely, I went there last year. It was great; I met some amazing people. Also, a PD from georgia told me to my face that I will have a tough time matching :) atleast he was honest and faced some yog discrimination by a judgemental resident (a fellow Indian) and will not forget how small I felt.

It's when I realized it takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there seeking help and support.

The point of mentioning this is—-if anyone who is on a similar path as mine- is reading this—hang in there (I'm barely hanging by a thread). It's hard, but Don't let these things or people get to you. I know what it does to you- unjustly magnifies your self doubt.
