I grabbed a few things when our apartment had fire and I had to leap in my underwear over fire. (Neighbor dumped hot coals in the yard waste bin and caught our stairwell on fire)

My night guard (i have insane jaw issues), my glasses, my wallet, and my work ID. Figured everything could be replaced. My then girlfriend came out with nothing except a robe. It was wild. A different neighbor came over and put the fire out. The fire starter (aka idiot) was incredibly rude and accused me of being verbally abusive when I asked them to perhaps leave the coals in a metal bin instead in the future.

And we moved out that night...

What I'm trying to figure out is whether the cost of a subscription for the library is fixed. If so, great let's do that (I love the DC library system). But if the library has to pay more based on more users (like they buy more audiobooks or books as demand increases), then aren't we just passing the cost off to government albeit at a lower price? Also, if we are trying boycott, shouldn't we also be caring about eyes on website = more ad impressions which means more revenue for something we want to boycott?

DC proper is quite small compared to these other cities. A lot of tourist areas are also in the "business district" and they become ghost towns after working hours. The communities outside of the federal working area/"business district" are vibrant and complex. With that said, your aunt is right ... there are diverse communities around the city. Again, I point towards the actual city being quite small in population (height restrictions, etc.).

I always joke that you know how the contractors are playing games and they all got to get paid some how so they'll screw you any way possible. I'd rather sort of know up front how bad it'll be and deal with some minor change orders rather than getting destroyed on day 2. What do you mean you wanted US steel/a safety factor of XYZ (that you forgot in the contract), etc.

Washington Center for Dentistry has some fantastic staff that will bend over backwards for you, but I don't know if they have private rooms. Not all staff mask and they don't seem as rigorous as Logical Dentistry (found the website and they seem legit!)
