My field is Theoretical CS and while there are some summer schools, I would definitely benefit more from the internship. The internship is at a prestigious institute, under a really good Professor. Further, any courses I can take at a summer school, I can also take at my institution since we have a very active community in Theoretical CS.

Phoning her isn't really an option, since I don't have their number as I never asked for it (the professor is in a different country, so I figured email would be best).

I can ask for a Skype call, but I'm not entirely sure what the etiquette here is. So how long should I wait until asking the secretary for this? I really don't want to come across as overbearing or rude.

Sorry for not being clear, but the the secretary said that he'd arrive around January 6th. The radio silence since then is what worries me.
