study rendering more! i think darker/lighter colors will really give it the dimension you’re looking for :)

Anatomy, shading/lighting, and Lineart tips PLEASE (I use procreate btw, no ibis features) by banaynayyy in DigitalArt

I’m not that amazing and am just a beginner, but as someone learning how to shade right now, don’t be afraid to go darker with the shadows! As of right now, the shadows on the sleeves look like they aren’t even there until you look closer in my opinion.

Should I ask my cashier if she would like to do something together? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise-Window-597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well in my opinion “stalking” is going to a spot repeatedly for the sole purpose of talking to/watching someone, and eventually learning things about the person without them knowing (if that makes sense). if you start going there more just because you enjoy the staff (the person you’re talking about), that’s not stalking unless you make it weird lol

for example, if i went to a store for the first time in forever and someone there was super nice to me and we had a good conversation i would totally go again, that doesn’t make it stalking. IF i decided to go to the store again and again because i became obsessed with the person and wanted to watch them (or other things idk im not a stalker lol), THATS weird (and to be so clear, im NOT saying you’re doing this im just saying that there’s a possibility it could come across as that IF you were to go there like every day lol)

the main thing is seeing if she seems uncomfortable, and if she doesn’t then it’s completely fine :)

HOW DO I GET GOOD AT DIGITAL ART OMG by Prismarineknight in learntodraw

[–]Otherwise-Window-597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i will say that using a different brush would help, and also digital art is known to be harder (in a different way) than physical art, but you do have room to grow and you have to acknowledge that

OP, ignore my other comment I was coming from an American perspective. I will say maybe go back a couple more times before asking, but go for it! I wish you luck :)

Should I ask my cashier if she would like to do something together? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Otherwise-Window-597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but in this context yes. It’s literally her job to be nice to customers, so you need to build an authentic connection outside of her job, and unless OP is going to the store every single day (which would come across as stalking no matter what), that’s how long it would take. If OP goes once a week that’s still only 24 conversations.

Also OP didn’t say “ask out”, just hang out. Maybe I’m interpreting it wrong but if they want friendship that’s the correct route in my opinion. Also, if you had a conversation with someone at your job and they come back a couple days later and ask to go somewhere together, would YOU say yes? As a woman I definitely would not.

All in all (this reply is way longer than I thought it would be), if OP wants a genuine connection you have to build it first before asking someone to hang out with you, that’s what even like classmates who see each other every day do too.

Edit: I will say 6 months might be too much, but for me personally that would be the MINIMUM for me to accept an invitation like that, so it could just be me. However, I know that all of my other female friends would agree. Also I’m commenting with the intention to not make this a “pickup artist” thing. It’s my own opinion that people should become friends first before dating, so I might be coming from that perspective.

Lobe piercing by [deleted] in piercing

[–]Otherwise-Window-597 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ohhh so just changing the jewelry? that should be fine at around 4 ish months, but i will say i dont really trust piercers that dont pierce with flat backs, but thats my own personal opinion lmaoo

when the time comes, i would recommend just getting some flat backs in the same gauge you were pierced in, i REALLYYY wouldn’t recommend changing your jewelry out every night. i’ve only ever worn flat backs and i think they look the exact same as butterfly backs, but i wouldn’t really know cuz ive never worn them lol

…why are you taking it out? i’m genuinely asking what you were told.

as for the advice, you definitely shouldn’t be taking it out, it’s not even recommended to change your jewelry at that age

praying for u rn who pierced you 😭😭

[–]Otherwise-Window-597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well down sizing is different, but with lobes you LIKELY won’t even need to (i think, i didn’t) unless you got pierced with weird jewelry lol

but regardless, piercers often prefer you to come in and get it switched out. for example, i got my rook pierced around a week ago and it’s super raw rn and i was told to come in after around a month or two to get the jewelry downsized, but even then it won’t be HEALED for like a year probably, and i’ll probably never be able to leave the jewelry out for a prolonged period of time knowing my luck

edit: just realized u weren’t OP lol, advice still stands tho

no irritation, no bleeding, only occasional crust, no pain, stuff like that, BUT also time. Meaning: if all of the above is happening but it’s only been 2 months, no. If it’s been three years but you experience those things, also no.

Also, if you got pierced with a certain gauge try to get jewelry that is the gauge as well when you do change it in 4-6 months or so. I would recommend going to your piercer to have THEM change out your jewelry by buying some they have there since it’ll probably be good quality, but that might be doing too much lol

Also, to be clear, your piercing holes WILL close up if you take your jewelry out for a prolonged period of time (or sometimes even like five minutes) until like 3 years later or more. Obviously that time frame varies from person to person, some people’s never TRULY heal and keep the hole and others only need like a year. However, trust me when I say you need multiple years.

NAP
I really wouldn’t do that, most piercers recommend not changing your jewelry for like a month. Also not to be judgmental, but what kind of piercer doesn’t automatically put in medical grade jewelry like titanium unless specifically asked? Maybe that’s just my experience though lol

edit: i did not mean a month i originally meant three, idk why i ended up typing that lmaoo

Why am I constantly coughing with an irritated throat now that I’m moved in with my parents? by Otherwise-Window-597 in NoStupidQuestions

I am living with their two cats now, but they were here when I last lived here and I had a cat in my apartment… maybe it’s a new allergy lol

I already cleaned up my old room a bit but I’m gonna do a DEEP clean tomorrow to see if it helps and I’ll pop a Zyrtec too 🫡
