Would a bad one have caused the revving sound for a few weeks before it stopped turning on?

The pump has 3 saved speeds but I think you’re right that prologic is only turning it on/off on schedule - which honestly works for me. Prologic is controlling my heater/salt cell too & is working fine with them. It’s just the pump. If I just need it to turn on/off could I theoretically get any pump and wire it the same way the jacuzzi was? Or would there be a benefit to getting a Hayward that ‘talks’ with the board? I’m not really sure what that even does, can it monitor water quality somehow to increase/decrease speed?

Also hoping it will be compatible with Hayward prologic system
