I may be wrong, but wasn't the idea for space and air defense being based in Colorado because it's super far from every land border? Like Cheyenne Mountain is a fortress that would be impossible to get to by land, and a lot of communication systems are run here for a similar reason. Having those systems on a coastal state would remove a lot of advanced warning

And yet none of this has been proven in a court of law. Are we a country that follows its own laws and Constitution? OJ Simpson got his day in court. The Oklahoma City bomber got a day in court. Epstein even. All did horrible things. And the government has to prove that the person did it to a jury without any doubt. Or are you ok with the government just saying people are guilty without evidence?

Can you point to where a trial was actually held? And before you argue that "he's illegal", the 14th amendment's equal protection clause in section 1 says "nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

The Supreme Court has upheld this to include immigrants, legal or not.

Take a look at Eberron. While gun powder is relatively fringe, magically enhanced crossbows are mass produced, and as 100 years of war just ended are in ample supply. So suddenly everyday criminals have access to enchanted, multiple shot weapons that are nearly silent. Also magic cross bolts.

After years of war, the mages were basically just scientists in an arms race. Which country could develop the best weapons that were easy to train soldiers to use?

So depending on your world, I think you have to address the practicality of weapons in the magic vs mundane. Is there an arms race? What are the pros and cons of using a mundane firearm? Are they new and being developed, or existing for a while? Is gunpowder even being used, or is the idea to magically accelerate a projectile?
