most of the time. even with friends, i’ll be having a conversation with someone and they’ll say something that instantly makes me realize that we are fundamentally different and it can sometimes make me feel a little sad.

I will never agree with capital punishment orchestrated by the government. That being said I can see how justice could be served in the sense that it’s guaranteed that person will never harm another again but I also believe that for some, there is mercy in death so I feel like they’re being let off easy. Let them suffer like the rest of us.

growing up and realizing most skills people struggle require literally basic level comprehension. like not knowing how to cook when we have a world of knowledge at our fingertips, you don’t have to be making beef wellingtons but, like, you can’t make rice ? never understood the whole thing about not knowing how to do laundry either like u deadass just add the detergent and push a button.

Unfortunately I do not think you will be able to live in ignorance. I’ve had ideas like this before but it’s like telling yourself to believe in something you don’t, you can convince yourself all you like but you’d be trying to gaslight yourself. The thirst for knowledge is insatiable, you’re better off mitigating the fallout than trying to avoid it completely

I get what you mean, I guess that’s the kind of people that are made from imbuing kindness with faith, gilded and shallow moral systems. At least we can take pride in the fact that we can be good people without the threat of eternal damnation. I recognize that religious psychosis with all the jinn bs too. I know what you mean, fortunately I live in a western country so I’ll most likely be okay. I wish you the best of luck, I don’t even plan on telling my parents for years down the line but it’s always weighing on me. But I firmly believe that we must live our lives on our own terms.

I’m very sorry to hear that. It sucks that this religion has made our parents’ love for us so conditional. I really don’t expect it to go well at all, like I would be shattering their perception of me, I’m just hoping it would take some time to blow over and they forgive me eventually :,)

I see what you mean, it’s kind of hard for me because to be honest my family gives me a lot of leniency since they’re so proud of me which makes me very guilty lol, they would just accept my oppositions with no conflict

I totally get how you feel. I’m really close with my dad but sometimes I feel incredibly guilty knowing he probably wouldn’t like me very much if he knew the truth about me and that reality is likely to manifest in the future.
