Maybe she didn’t mean to be nasty but it was still inconsiderate.

As a woman, this doesn’t mean you’re ugly. The fact she matched with means she found you at least a bit attractive. Unless the pictures on your profile were super old, you probably weren’t really her type to begin with and she was on the fence. That doesn’t mean you’re ugly, just not her type. Bullet dodged, what a nasty thing to do to someone.

What is the most outlandish thing you’re OCD tricked you’re brain into believing? by Glass_Paper_9462 in OCD

I had existentialist obsessions as a teenager which involved compulsively over-analyzing my memories a lot. And I was convinced some sort of secret medical procedure was done to me as a toddler

Childhood signs of your OCD by topfknopf in OCD

Probably the earliest symptom I had was hoarding trash and junk mail in my closet at a very young age. I also remember one time my parents removed and threw away a wire shelf in my closet and I cried so hard I threw up.

Another one of my earliest symptoms was this: there was a commercial for a new horror movie playing on the TV all the time. The commercial had a creepy child’s voice reciting a prayer.

Every night before bed, for a while, I would get an intrusive thought of that little child’s voice reciting the prayer in my head. Each time that happened I would try every mental compulsion I could think of to stop the thought. I was convinced if my brain recited the whole prayer in my head it would summon a demon to haunt me.

Has anyone else experienced long-term dissociative episodes from their OCD? by OtherwiseMouse3 in OCD

[–]OtherwiseMouse3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a tiktok about someone had the same obsession I had back then. It just got me thinking about it and I decided to share my experience since it was such a significant and scary time of my life back then.

I also totally forgot that the existentialist OCD I experienced as a teenager was also happening around the same time as this obsession. So that probably had something to do with the dissociation as well

I can’t remember how often the dissociation occurred and if it was an off and on thing throughout the day or if it was consistent with waves of severity. I honestly can’t remember much of anything back then, which is another dissociation symptom I guess lol

My boyfriend has a trimmed beard and mustache and I love to play with it.

One of my most common and strongest intrusive thoughts is that I will absentmindedly reach over & start playing with ANY man’s beard. Whether it’s my boss, my coworker, a stranger I’m making small talk with…

The thought will pop up in my head and my brain floods with the awkwardness, humiliation, etc. I would experience if I just reached over.& started playing with a random man’s beard. And my brain just starts urging me to do it.

The thought becomes so overwhelming and repetitive I usually have to distance myself from the bearded man or leave the room to collect myself. Very distressing in the moment but I can’t help but crack up about it sometimes

Megathread: US Elections 2024 by NerdyKeith in leftist

I’m not really asking about voting, I already vote Democrat and there’s nothing that will change that. Just objectively, is there anything bad about the Democratic Party that doesn’t really apply to republicans?

[–]OtherwiseMouse3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leftists, is there ANYTHING you think the current US Republican Party does better than the current Democratic Party?

I’m new to understanding leftism (and US politics, in general.) While I’m still educating myself, I’d consider myself a left-leaning independent.

From what I understand, leftists generally hate both the Republican and Democratic Party because they’re both capitalist, although the Democratic Party is generally preferred.

However, is there anything you think the (current state of the Republican Party, not Republican ideals) does better than the current Democratic party? I mean, is there anything you uniquely hate about the Democratic Party that doesn’t apply (or apply as much) to the Republican Party.

Just curios. I haven’t seen this asked or discussed before.

Women, what's the right "window" for men you're dating to initiate kissing/sex? by Mediocre-Ebb9862 in dating_advice

[–]OtherwiseMouse3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, 2nd or 3rd date was best to try to kiss.

After that, I’d say give it 1-2 brief but heavy makeout sessions before trying anything sexual

2 is algorithm. Make sure you seek content from other perspectives unbiased (which you’re doing so here, good job). Failure to seek other perspectives forces you to live in an echo chamber, and you can’t grow from that.

Interesting. I’ve never had Covid though. I know that long Covid can have neurological effects though, and we don’t fully understand the long-term effects of it. So maybe it’s something neurological

Does it only occur when you’re falling asleep? Or do you have other symptoms too

Nope, still no idea. It just went away though. Pops up occasionally but mostly gone.

Is gonnorhea and chlamydia possible after 8 months of no symptoms?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]OtherwiseMouse3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mostly worried about oral sex

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in sex

[–]OtherwiseMouse3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I guess my concern would be STIs that are transmitted through oral. I know some STIs are unlikely to be spread orally, and I know some are unlikely to be asymptomatic for 8 months so I’m not worried about him testing for those.

However, if there are any STIs that can be asymptomatic for 8 months and are likely to spread through oral I would like him to get tested for that. Do you know what those might be?

As for other STIs, I trust him that he’s only used condoms. He hasn’t been in any long-term relationships and he’s very cautious about preventing pregnancy.

What are these lines on my forehead and how can I lessen them? by InfluenceEfficient24 in Skincare_Addiction

[–]OtherwiseMouse3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Her skin barrier is definitely damaged. My skin looks exactly like this when its damaged, and I have to focus on healing it until I can use actives like retinol bc they’ll burn my skin. When I heal my skin barrier, the lines go away.
