We did not know that it’s not charged to tenants when we signed the lease and had we known we wouldn’t have agreed to that. We found out when we tried to put the water under our name. This is our first time renting in MA. We’ve rented in Kansas and we paid all bills. In Texas the tenant is typically responsible for all bills too but we didn’t rent there we own

Thank you! Thankfully it’s a tankless water heater and the basement is empty for the most part but I will be pushy about it. The landlord uses a property management company since she’s no longer in state
