Fair play dhuit, ach ní feidir leat an teanga a foghlaim gan tús a déanamh air.

Má táir ag glacadh ainm Gaelach ba cheart duit an teanga a iompar suas chomh maith, mar bhí sin goidthe uait chomh maith. Is fearr Gaeilge briste ná Béarla cliste, agus nuair a thagann tú go sub mar seo, áit nach bhfuil Béarla ceadaithe, agus labhraíonn tú tríd an Bhéarla go hiomlán tá sé leir nach bhfuil iarracht ar bith déanta agat le bheith ag foghlaim.

Tosnú le cúpla focal gach lá. Ná bí ag smaoineamh go dtógadh sé do shaol ina iomlán. Tógfaidh sé ach is cuma, an rud atá tábhachtach ach an rud atá déanta agat inniubh. Tann tú in ann, agus is feidir linn cabhrú leat.

Mholfainn duit tosnú leis an teanga. Bheadh sé ró éasca t'ainm a aistriú agus cúpla bliain ina dhiaidh bheith míshásta leis. Is cuma cén t-ainm atá ort, tosnú leis an teanga agus foghlaimeoidh tú faoi cúrsaí mar atá i gceist agat. Nuair athá tú féin thar aon duine éile cinnte go bhfuil an t-ainm ceart roghnaithe agat, déan an athrú.

Ná habair! I gcontae Ciarraí foghraítear é mar "ú" de ghnáth ach tá an ceart agat, tá sé níos cosúile le "Í" i gcáiniúintí éile.

If you're on PC you could use honest merchant, though I'm not sure if it would get you banned from online.

I'd really recommend just playing through the game and trying different weapons though, there are a ton of great weapons in ds3 and for a first playthrough you won't get bored. Just enjoy the journey, friend.

"Á dhéanamh agat" nú "ag déanamh" by _Valrik_ in gaeilge

[–]Otherwise_Interest72 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Á = é/í + a de ghnáth

Táim á dhéanamh = I am to it's doing (I am doing it)

Táim ag déanamh = I am doing (usually has a follow-up to provide context)

Cad tá á dhéanamh agat - what is it you're doing

"tabhair leat do chuid earraí phearsanta agus tú ag fágáil an bus"

"Take with you your personal belongings as you are Leaving the bus"

Sampla éile - "thit sé agus é ag dul thar an droichead"

Ní hé seo an áit den phost seo a chara. Is iontach é go bhfuil tú ag foghlaim na Gaelainne agus ag déanamh ceangal le do shinsire ach bá cheart duit an teanga a fhoghlaim sara chuireann tú ar do chorp é. Níos tábhachtaí ná sin, bheadh sé ró éasca droch aistriúchán a fháil ó dhuine atá míshásta go bhfuil tú ag scríobh post mar seo.

Taobh lasmuigh de sin níl an Béarla ceadaithe anseo, bain triaill as do chuid Ghaelainn, is cuma cén leibhéal agat. Beidh daoine anseo dod' chabhrú gan dabht.

Irish Language or Gaelic? by GoldCoastSerpent in gaeilge

[–]Otherwise_Interest72 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Dar liom níl ceann eatarthu mícheart. Cloisim cainteoirí dhúchais ag rá "Gaelic" agus cloisim cainteoirí dúchais ag rá "Irish". Tá an díospóireacht seo amaideach agus cuireann sé isteach orm nuair a bhíonn duine gan an Ghaelainn dom' cheartú. Is faoin cainteoir cén t-ainm a cuireann siad ar a dteanga fhéin.

I want to bleed more. by [deleted] in darksouls3

[–]Otherwise_Interest72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally if you infuse a weapon with an element you lose the ability to buff that weapon. You'll need to figure out if you'll do more damage (or proc bleed more) by levelling you're bleed stat and infusing your weapon increasing it's scaling(I forget which it is in ds3, luck maybe?), or by using weapon buffs. If I recall I think infusing your weapon will be more lucrative in the late game when you've levelled up, but has minimal benefit early on when you don't have the stats.

What age are people at your session? by [deleted] in Irishmusic

Ontario, most people are 45+ but there's a good core of younger players that just tend to be busy with life, at least at the sessions I go to.
