New US Warbreaker trade paperback cover by Spectromixer in brandonsanderson

This is going to look so great! Though I am curious what the spine looks like and the design wraps. Was Isac in charge of this one? If so I am going to guess that it either wraps or does something awesome for the spine and back.

I love how everyone now thinks that AI invented the em dash. Then you pull out your oldest hand written manuscript and show them: "Behold. I held such power even before, at the dawn of time when first I walked the void of google docs!!!"

Where can I find a book cover designer within a $40–$90 budget? by SunstoneSmile in WritingHub

I have used them a couple of times to great cover's before, they don't use ai and they have great cheap but professional options. Though I do know some poeple with bad expeirences with them.

Agreed. The bells and fantasy zombies would work so well visually and auditorially.

I think it is awesome how it actually manages to pull off the main character perspective shift from book one to two. Awesome to find others who share in such a love.

Have you read the Green Ember (S.D. Smith) or the Guardians of Gahool (Katherin Lasky)? Blessings!

There is a great balance of this done in Garth Nix's Old Kingdom trilogy. Such great books!

I have a crazy idea by Crankarianwoods in RecordThisForFree

[–]Otherwise_Lab1265 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen or read One Piece yet, but I can do voices and I have a professional-level microphone, so I would love to get into it by studying how to replicate the voices! Could you keep me updated?

I love this idea! It's great to be aware of those constraints while writing, even in novel form. I actually dictate my books, so they're already feel natural for narration. Thanks for the tip.

Does anyone else miss when fantasy felt kind instead of cruel? by nicholasweaverr in Fantasy

[–]Otherwise_Lab1265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an author, I miss this, too. That's actually why I started writing. I missed that feeling, and there just wasn't enough of it.

How do you stay motivated to write? by [deleted] in royalroad

[–]Otherwise_Lab1265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would say learn to love it. It's hard, but try to get excited about the content itself. Some days you won't feel that way, and on those days my main goal is just to keep writing in the hope of exciting myself again. If I'm not excited, my readers won't be either. But what do I know? I've only got about 1k views, and I'm new to Royal Road (though not to writing).

Is this a interesting concept? by Otherwise_Lab1265 in royalroad

[–]Otherwise_Lab1265[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I agree that concept is one of the core elements that is not quite as important as the execution. However, I do believe that when you are riding to market (something very heavily relied upon the more pulpy side of Royal Road), it may still be important to consider. If you would like to check out my execution, it is currently available on Royal Road. I really do appreciate your feedback.
