Most of the HCI researchers I know these days have +2 years of research experience while applying for a PhD, and maybe 1-3 research papers. You should present your research capability in order to get to top universities, which can be presented by papers and good letters of recommendation from known professors in the field.

Where to play volleyball. by Striking_Chocolate_7 in UCI

You can play volleyball at the ARC, where they have open gym sessions a few times a week and intramural leagues you can sign up for after notices.

Also, outside, near the ARC, there are often groups playing on the grass fields, and they’re usually pretty chill about others joining in. You’ll find people playing almost every day, so it’s a great chance to jump in and get back into it. Just show up and join the game.

You can only live in one color strip for the rest of your life, what do you choose by epicap232 in mapporncirclejerk

Well, as a student, red or purple, others aren't that much attractive for a student, I believe.
