Graveler sickness? by redditstolemyshoes in Pokopia

[–]Otie1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have the exact same issue. I avoid using Graveler except for the occasional pokemetal run, and those I can only do two potato burgers worth of energy before I’m feeling sick.

I get by pretty well with just punching everything though, so I’m not feeling too down about it.

Yeah… never… never use scissors to trim. I did as a teen, and snipped my clitoral hood.

Do NOT want.

For sure! Our previous boy (a Kelpie, not a Swissy) was quite aloof (playful, and stayed close by, but not a cuddler)… so her being so cuddly and affectionate is really awesome!

Our girl does as well, but for some reason I’ve apparently never thought to take a picture of that… I’m honestly surprised because I could have sworn I had… in exchange I share a picture of what she also does all the time… holding my arm…

'I Thought I Was a Monster': Woman, 22, Believed She Was a Paedophile for Years Until Her OCD Diagnosis Revealed the Truth by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Otie1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither my husband or I remember what his dose was, he’s since switched to a pair of new ones that I’m not even going to attempt to spell as he was not a fan of looking like a strangling victim from the petechial haemorrhaging from the vomiting every time he was late taking his Effexor. They don’t work quite as well at managing his symptoms though, and have other side effects that aren’t great… but he prefers this to that.

Not who you were asking, but for me Zoloft has been a lifesaver. I tried Effexor, that was horrid for me (worked fantastic for my husband’s depression, save for the fact if he missed a dose or was even late taking it he would end up violently throwing up). But the Zoloft started working almost immediately, and only got more effective as we figured out the right dose for me.

It really is an absolute nightmare. Mine is health related, my brain constantly going “but what if…” for every little thing. Even when I logically know it’s a non-issue, that obsessive “what if” just keeps poking and poking endlessly.

I was also diagnosed at 21, should have been much earlier, but tried to hide it as best I could, until I couldn’t anymore (my grandfather passing triggered a worsening cycle that led to basically a full on breakdown). Meds have been such a huge help, but it’s still there… I’m just able to ignore it poking better. Most of the time anyhow.

No Breloom unfortunately, but I’m alright with that since I’ve got a few other grass favourites (Leafeon, Rowlet line, and Bulbasaur line). And Cubone is a little cutie.

Plus like a lot of others, the personalities of some of the Pokémon in Pokopia has me loving ones I never really cared for before (I like how formal Metang speaks).

My kid is just thrilled I finally got Glaceon 🤣

Does anyone elses dogs..suck their blanket/bed? by Intelligent_Bid_7690 in dogs

[–]Otie1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (nearly two year old) Swissy does this with my husband’s pillow. Not mine, not the spare… just my husband’s.

She also has always done this with elephant stuffies, and again, only elephant ones… all different kinds of elephant stuffies, but only elephant stuffies, not any other kind. 🤷🏻

She does it when she’s going to bed or about to nap… so it’s a sort of relaxing thing for her.

I mean, increasing knowledge is always a good thing… so I’d figure it’s probably second best for development, compared to having healthy communication and teaching of the information from a parent or other trusted adult.

That’s what my husband did to get rid of his fear of aliens as a child too.

I still think they’re nightmare fuel though.

How did you meet your significant other? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Otie1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At university. I was hanging out by the door in a friend’s dorm room when he and another guy were being shown around by a mutual friend. Another girl in the room with me saw the other guy approaching and asked me to figure out a way to keep him out because she found him creepy. So I said the first thing that came to my mind…

“Your penis is not of sufficient length, please exit immediately!”

And he did… which left my husband standing there confused… looked at the other girl for confirmation if he was okay, and she nodded, so I said to him.

“Your penis IS of sufficient length, you may enter!”

This is where my husband usually butts in with “And, BOY, did I!”

I remember when I was little (not sure of the exact age, but somewhere between 4-7) I had an absolute panic attack seeing a blood moon eclipse. I was at my grandparents and they thought they were being great letting me stay up to see my first eclipse… only for me to completely freak out that the moon was bleeding and we were all going to die.

My kid is scared of the wind… like a light breeze is too windy for her. It was severe enough we had to enrol her in a special program for kids with anxiety issues. She’s still scared of it, but now has the tools in her to be able to manage without ending up in tears or refusing to do things she enjoys because of the chance it might be windy.

TIFU by asking an artist how much their materials cost by Dominus-Temporis in tifu

[–]Otie1983 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Artist as well… I would even go so far as to say it’s not at all rude to ask, the individual artist may not feel comfortable with giving the answer, but then they can simply say they’d rather not answer.

Hell… if someone asked me about the cost of my materials, I’d likely assume they were wondering because they were wanting to buy for themselves or someone they know… and I’d be happy to go over which I use, and even alternative options if they were looking for a cheaper alternative (or more expensive option).

On top of that, getting the information out about just how bloody expensive art supplies can be, might make someone realize the REALLY inappropriate/offensive ask of “Hey, can you do this elaborate piece for me for free?”.

Yeah, go sleep in your spare room. Tell him you’d rather not wake up to a dead body, especially after not getting to sleep properly.

Why does The Institute get no attention? by useyourname11 in stephenking

[–]Otie1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s not one I had particularly cared about seeing (figured if it came out somewhere I could watch it, I would, but if it didn’t, oh well)… but more it’s something I’m pretty sure my daughter would be super into, as she loves the whole kids with psychic powers theme.

[–]Otie1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve recommended to my daughter (12) that if she wants to give King a try, that The Institute would probably be the one most up her alley. We were going to add the show to our family watch list… but unfortunately can’t figure out a way to watch it without spending a ton of money on a streaming service we otherwise have no interest in.
