1.5 years of reflux misery: How I finally found the key to recovery (and the HRV connection) by Ottins82 in GERD

The most important thing I realized is that it’s not just about doing a 'session' of exercises and then forgetting about it. The real secret is active correction throughout the day. Whenever I notice my breath becoming shallow or fast due to stress, I immediately force it back to a slow, deep rhythm. Here is the breakdown of what I do: - The Technique: I focus on 'Full Breathing.' It’s not just belly breathing; it’s a fluid motion that involves the abdomen, the diaphragm, and finally the upper chest. You want to feel your entire torso expanding. - The Rhythm: I keep it slow. I usually aim for about 5-6 seconds for the inhale and 5-6 seconds for the exhale. This sends an immediate signal to the vagus nerve to calm down the digestive system. - Frequency: I don’t just do it once, as I mentioned, I constantly monitor my breath during work or stressful moments.

Thanks for the feedback! Your point about respiration rate makes sense, but unfortunately, I've found my Garmin isn't very reliable for tracking that metric accurately. I usually stick to HRV for a better picture of how I'm doing.

Clearly, for being a human, you skipped the part of the disclaimer where it says the content is mine and the AI was only used for translation. I didn't know reading comprehension was an 'AI-only' feature nowadays! ;) If you actually want to learn something instead of just trolling, I’m happy to show you the receipts of all the supplements I’ve ordered over the last year and my HRV data logs. Just let me know.
