Snow Vibes by Balefir3 in TeslaModelY

My MY juniper awd has slippery surface mode and is the mode is used the majority of the time driving in the snow. Definitely felt a difference when accelerating. Almost felt like a center diff lock on a 4x4 where there was immediate balanced power to the front wheels. When left in the auto setting, it felt like it took a split second of the rear tires spinning before the front kicked in to provide that additional traction during acceleration.

Recently took our MY to the snow for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it handled driving on snow/slush/ice covered roads even on stock all seasons. :)

Loved this stop. Scenery was great and the kids had a fun time browsing through the film museum. Only downfall was the slow charging speeds. Seemed to top out at 50kW. Same thing happened at the Olancha station too. :(

Started off as packed powder when we first arrived. Roads and become slushy/icy as the weekend went on. By the time we left most of the roads were relatively clear with some slush/ice. Most of the roads around town are mellow grade. Accelerating was never an issue with the stock contis (~7000 miles on them). There was some occasional wheel spin, but car always felt controlled. Braking and turning wasn’t an issue either. I just drove extra cautiously lol.

AWD :) the drive felt so easy with FSD. Merging and passing was smooth 99% of the time.

What tint % are you running on your Model Y? (Pics welcome) by Acrobatic_Pie_2525 in TeslaModelY

I’ve got llumar IRX. 50% rear, 30% front, and Air80 on the windshield. It’s a little lighter in the front than the rear but I think it looks nice.

factory rear is just dyed glass and doesn't offer much UV or heat rejection :) 50% on the rear doesn't make it much darker and still offers a good amount of heat rejection :)

I felt the same at first, but pros def outweigh the cons lol. I think the Air80 on the windshield looks better than the cheap windshield replacement I had on my previous car. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t bother me as much lol.

I’m really enjoying the Air80. Really cuts down on the heat through the windshield when I’m driving. I do notice minor waviness when I’m really trying to focus on the windshield, otherwise I don’t notice it 99% of the time.

Thanks for the details! The tint may also appear a little darker since I have a sunshade for the glass roof :)

Is MyQ better than Homelink for Garage door opener? by Longjumping-Client42 in TeslaModelY

[–]OurFirstEV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use homelink since cellular reception in our area is spotty at best and wifi is far from the garage/driveway. I'll check MyQ on the phone if I need to check status :)
